Reblogs in a chain now get their own notes
The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve.
Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, you’ll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.
If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.
Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.
This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out – stay tuned!

"Tumblr has released their SECOND worst update in its tumultuous history. This is astronomically bad. It gives every reblog the same capacity of a quote retweet, but it isn't nested nor designed for such use. It completely obliterates how conversations are held on the site.
The biggest problem this presents is an even larger fracturing of information on what is already a rather difficult site to gather consensus information on. Small core userbase means notes and interactions also feel even smaller now.
This also really undermines artist outreach by segmenting the posts attention and notes into smaller pieces that may not even get back to the OP
Ultimately, it just feels a lot worse to use, conversations feels more segmented, you can't keep track of things by referring to the original post anymore, artists lose traction, the community feels smaller, and jokes don't land the same."

Some sketches of the last days in my new sketchbook!
I still try to find a way to draw Stark from „Frieren“ in my style, haha. I don’t know why but I always feel I don’t get his characteristics right. Why was it so easy to draw other characters I like?
Tbh honest, I guess this is the reason why I seldomly draw other fanart than Detective Conan and Inu Yasha. While it’s okay for me to adapt these into my style after those years I don’t feel right doing it with new fandoms. Maybe it’s just my perfectionism.
I mean, I have drawn the characters from Inu Yasha and Detective Conan many times over the years so I got used to them - why would I be perfect at a first drawing a character from another style/universe?
I guess I should go back to drawing more fanart - just to get used to don’t overthink perfection too much.

Do you also love swatching new art toys? Since I love experimenting with new mediums in my sketchbooks, I currently love acrylic pens! In the past I just used them for art journaling and mixed media canvases.
But after getting into the usage of acrylic pens I more often use them with my comicstyle art, especially in my sketchbooks. They’re great for adding stuff on top of other medium like alcohol markers.
Since I wanted some finer tips I found these more gel pen style pens with a fine tip (1-2mm). When they arrived, they were in totally random order in their package and I had a lot fun (no sarcasm!) sorting and swatching them.
Sorry for the photo quality 😅 it was a exhausting day that day I took some of them. I even hadn’t had energy to clean up. 🫣
So many pens! So many beautiful colors 🥰
Though there’s really a big weight on greens and blues 😂 nevermind, they’re actually my favorite colors. I’m really looking forward to test them on some actual art in my new sketchbook 💕
I also guess they’re good to use for my daughter. She likes drawing but is sometimes a bit heavy handed on pen pressure. The tips of these pens makes it easier to use them.

Hello into the void 🤭
Lately I decided to revive this blog for personal/hobby/art stuff which don’t belong on any other sideblog.
It actually was a blog related to my art in general but hyperfixation went wild 🤔 and now that I also draw a lot other stuff again and also looking at my other hobbies I wanted to give it a go. Since instagram s*cks for artists and all stuff.
Anyway, let’s start this hobby related blog with my stack of unfinished finished sketchbook!
Unfinished finished? Yeah.
There was a time when I actually finished every sketch when I drew it. Or shortly after. But nowadays - and two children with lots of hobbies where you need to drive them later - I don’t have time to finish them like I want to. So I stack those books with sketches in them and hope to finish those lived sketches one day.
Well, I don’t know if this life is enough while filling up another one in another year. We’ll see I guess 🤭
I’m proud though to finish them unfinished at least! It wasn’t like that before. And the last one also took not a year like the ones before! 😁 that’s an improvement!
I already started the next one. An ohuhu marker sketchbook this time. I’m curious to see how it feels working in it while not only markers but also water based mediums struggled within the last books.

Quick PSA, if you get one of those "Work scanned, AI use detected" comments on AO3, just mark them as spam.
Some moron apparently built a bot to annoy or prank hundreds of authors.
There is no scanning process, your work doesn't actually resemble AI writing, it's all bullshit. Mark the comment as spam (on AO3, not the email notification you got about the comment!) and don't let it get to you.
The spam comments have evolved.
They are now also linking to a site they claim is able to scan works and tell you whether they were AI written or not, and that you should do that before reading a fic.
It should go without saying that you should not, under no circumstances, visit a site advertised in a spam comment.
In this case, I'd say there's even a chance that the "scanning" site is actually used to scrape fics and use them for future AI writing. What it definitely doesn't do is tell you whether something was AI written or not. That's a bullshit claim.
Don't use that site. Don't believe these spam comments, whether you get them on your own works or see them on someone else's.
It's all bullshit.
Just got another one, so here's what they look like to anyone curious. They're never real users, either, just keysmashes for the display name.

Like the online version of glaze/nightshade requires an account. And last time i checked they arent accepting new accounts because of the high pressure.
Like i make my art on my ipad. My MacBook is from 2014. If i tried to download and run nightshade on my decade old macbook and go throufg 10+ years of artworks i might as well just set it on fire.
Like majority of digital artists doesnt actually have a high end gaming pc setup. It is unrealistic to expect everyone to be able to run such a heavy program just so we can feel somewhat ok with sharing our drawings online. It’s ridiculous. I CAN NOT nightshade or glaze my artworks even if i wanted to.

I didn't have the option through mobile but if you go through your desktop settings, under visibility there is a toggle to switch so your work is not used in training AI, it's off by default (go figure lol)
