you dont have to be a parent to understand the horror of walking into a room to discover that the baby crawled out of his crib and onto that pottery wheel you forgot to turn off, and while the baby is spinning around and around, the dog is sitting there all calm, like a person, gently using his paws to fashion the babys soft cartilage head into something a little more modern.  it might be the classic tale of bad parenting, but lets see where the dog is going with this

Ik olly providing for the fam is a popular headcanon but I propose a funnier one: he just kinda makes money and tosses it at qifrey to add it to the books. Qifrey doesn't have the heart to tell him that—between the growing most of their own groceries and the great hall's stipend and qifrey's own occasional odd job and beldaruit's "allowance"—the household is doing pretty ok? He ends up just putting together a savings account for him and will occasionally dip into it for nice inks or gifts and new clothes for the girls.

All this to say, I think it'd be hilarious for olly to just find out he is like the medieval equivalent of a millionaire randomly one day. He's all indignant because u were supposed to be using that for living expenses!!! And qifrey's like bro?? We literally live off the land most of the year?? And we r like three hours by flight from the nearest shopping center??? Also my dad's literally rich???? Wth did you think I was going to do w all this money?????? Anyways olly secretly flushed and suddenly finds out that he actually never has to work again (he tries not working for like 3 weeks and gets so so bored and bothers the girls so much that they beg him to go find a job)
