So, today is not the best day. It's the second anniversary of the most devastating things that happened in my life-- departure of my dad. Since then, it's been more or less an absolute chaos in my head, a lot of mental problems and feeling helpless. And if I were left to my own devices, I don't know, how well I would have done. A lot of people around help, even if they don't know that they do. And even if no one can directly "save me" , the kindness, the connection and the memes are a lighthouse in the middle of a terrible storm. Thanks to all of you. I want summer back p-q 1/3 through with my third and, with luck, 2nd to last semester in university I can't wait for a break. Trying to finish 2 years of studies in 1 is no simple task and I feel it down to my bones :^) But all these beans have been amazing friends through the summer and I would not survive this year if not for them 😱 I haven't been drawing much outside of my studies (concept art for my group project game, vector graphics, some Photoshop), everything is just too much and I'm not trying to force a breakdown. But maybe as I get closer to finishingy degree and next summer I would be able to pull it off again... Turned a year old sketch into a finished drawing - a second one in a row! But I shouldn't chase streaks. One of the reasons for my artblock was the amount of pressure it had to keep up with myself. Since apparently I still can draw I've decided to do some more portraits :D At first I thought her smile reminded or Natalie Domer, but when I finished I suddenly got a really strong Vivien Leigh vibe ಠ_ಠ --- Yesterday, I started in the morning, around 11 and thought "Hey, I'll finish the drawing and go eat breakfast, since I have food waiting in the fridge! So, I made this drawing of my friend and made it so good I feel kind of weird looking it in the eyes xD 👀👁️👁️ --- About halfway through I stopped and tried to remember when was the last time I drew something on that level of "seriousness" and realised it's been about 6 months. About half a year since I drew something other than chibis and cartoonish characters. Not to mention that I have generally made like 20 drawings max in that period of time. So... Yeah. Good to be back, I guess? Surprised my hand didn't fall off in shock midway 😹 Initially I wanted to mess with the drawing a bit, because I have recently watched a couple of animes and wanted to try altering some features, but then I got scared of messing it up and I ain't got a scanner to back up the current progress >< #art #drawing #portrait #pencil #realistic
