Dutch Design Week 2014
At the Dutch Design Week 2014 eli5e presented Collection on Canvas.
Selections of the 3d printed collection were highlighted in different settings. In which the furniture served as a canvas. Showcasing the products in differently styled environments.

Happy :) designs now also available in Stockholm!
Did you know, that there is a great 3D print shop in the historic center of Stockholm?! They offer workshops, produce 3D prints and sell designs. A perfect hang-out to be inspired, 3D print something or to score a startling birthday present.
My lovely friends Tara and Mathieu were traveling to Stockholm and personally delivered my designs to Artur Tchokanov the lead designer of the shop. Artur and I were already in contact about collaborating and this was surely the perfect occasion to get in contact again.
Above you can get an impression of the store, pictures made by Tara Gerwe. Or if you have the opportunity to visit the store... They are open on weekdays from 10 am till 6 pm at Kornhamnstorg 49 in Stockholm.
Happy to sell my designs in Sweden at this lovely location. Stay tuned to see which 3D print shop is next ;) !

When 3D printing meets design <3
Currently I enjoy to explore what possibilities 3D printing brings for a designer. This last month I have been exploring PLA, a biodegradable material that can be used in almost any "portable" 3D printer. It is great! It looks fresh, it is strong and is derived from renewable resources.
Sparkling PLA designs at the Printed In Space shop in Amsterdam
Another fun design idea, which is not applied in 3D printed designs that often yet, but surely will become a trend sooner or later is the gradient look. It is not a hundred percent predictable how the gradient will come out of the printer... Though in my opinion that makes it even more charming.
Gradient technique applied by Erik Swetter in his stylish pencils collection
And last but not least I would like to mention the wood variant of PLA, which I thought is totally cool to work with! I couldn't wait to design something with this nice smelling material, so here it is my first 3D printed wooden design...

Visit some fun 3d print venues in Amsterdam this weekend
Still wondering what to do this weekend? Here are some fun venues to visit and they all celebrate the possibilities of 3D printing.
Elle festival is organizing a talk about 3D printing by Ground3d. They will explain how to 3D print your own vases and jewelry. When & where: Friday June 26 from 17:00 until 18:00 at the Elle Paviljoen, Looiersgracht 60 in Amsterdam.
Would you like to see some 3D printers in action? Head to the 3D print shop Printed in Space where I will be exhibiting my designs this weekend and where we would love to show you this weeks restyling of the shop interior design. When & where: Friday June 26 to Sunday 28 from 13:00 until 17:30 at the Grimburgwal 2 in Amsterdam.
And then there is Stories a lovely new shop in town that opened their doors yesterday evening. They showcase innovative fashion that pushes the boundaries in fashion and technology using new possibilities such as 3D printing and lasercutting. When & Where: Friday June 26 to Sunday 28 from from 11:00 until 18:00 at the Overtoom 435 in Amsterdam.
Have a nice weekend and hope to see you around town!
3D print your own world cup earrings
Yesterday I desired to design my own earrings to wear to Holland's next football match. Besides, I always wanted to try and make some personal jewelry in my own handwriting. And so I did, using the Dutch famous cheering phrase: "hup holland hup" as inspiration.
To shape these sketches into a 3D printable model/ .STL I have used some professional tools like Illustrator and Solid Works. It is pretty advanced, and I would love to create a workshop to explain this process to you properly. For now, since the match is already on Monday, I offer my .STL file for free at Thingiverse. So if you would like to 3Dprint your own pair, feel free to use it!
For printing I have used 3DHubs to find some nearby makers that love to 3Dprint designs. In Amsterdam there is quite a lot of choice. And I went for Printed in Space a lovely shop at the Grimburgwal 2 because I knew they have orange material at stock. The service of 3DHubs is real fast and user friendly and within a day I was wearing my own designs.
Have fun making!
DIY 3D printed souvenir from Barcelona with love
From an idea to a real product - this is fun! I have used Tinkercad to 3D model my "I love BCN" souvenir. It is easy to use software, free and available online.
Do it yourself - great experience to 3D print your own product, why not during your holiday in Barcelona! I went to one of the first FabCafe's around the world, you can even have a coffee while your product is 3D printed.
So, what do you Fab? The FabCafe is situated at Calle Bailen 11 in Barcelona, Spain. Just love their concept!
Trend spotting in Paris
I get inspiration during my trips abroad. Foreign cultures inspire me to change my view on daily matters. Even-though Paris is very close to Amsterdam there are some remarkable differences.
Fashion - it is all about the details, even mannequins and their appearances are being well considered.
Sugar - we can literally start spicing up our sugar! Lemon, orange, chocolate and Tutti Frutti were some of the sugar flavors that I saw. And sugar cubes turned out to be old fashioned.
Etalage - the shop windows are very well decorated. I love the combination of colors and the creation of patterns. And if you were still doubting… the bow tie is definitely going to be part of the scene this summer!
Enjoyed a happy easter with our Edgy 3D printed egg holder
Edgy is especially designed for everyone who loves to eat a soft boiled egg. The design is besides a lot of fun at your breakfast table, also an innovative design that will complement your ritual of eating a soft boiled egg.
The Edgy egg holder is made of two halves that both embrace one side of a boiled egg. The design will complement your ritual of cracking off the top. We love the idea of no more burned fingers when you crack off the top and some extra space to place the egg top.
Edgy is as thin as a real eggshell. Finished with a slightly rough texture, it also has the feel and relief of an eggshell. This makes the product, besides fun to use, also pleasant to touch and to look at.
Edgy was first exhibited in the collection of eli5e 3D printed designs during the Milan Design Week 2014.
Would you like to have one? Edgy can be ordered in my online shop and comes in real cute packaging!
