“That’s not true. There’s a bunch of other stuff on. I bet there’s movies, maybe a rerun of an old sitcom, a rerun of a fight.” he pointed at the tv while saying that with a shrug. He stared at his friend staring at the tv, and let out another small shrug, reaching for another chip. “You can go home if you want. It’s not a big deal.” 

Feeling Logan looking at him, Elias turned his head to look at his friend as he spoke. “No. I don’t want to go home. I’m just thinking out loud and just complaining. Sorry. It’s hard for me to watch television. I barely do it these days, so... I guess it just doesn’t interest me.” He said while shrugging as well before taking another sip of water. “I’ll stop complaining.”

He frowned at the other shaking his head, and shook the bag of chips, moving it in front of him, silently insisting he would take one. He kept eating the chips as he reached for the remote, throwing it in the direction of Elias’s lap. “Find something else to watch, then.” he simply said. The male wasn’t exactly paying attention to the TV anyway.

When Logan inched the bag in front of him, Elias reached for one and ate it, though he really wasn’t interested in eating. Picking up the remote, he knew that nothing was on due to what time it was so he just put it beside him. “It’s the middle of the night. The only thing on is cooking shows and those shows that tries to get you to buy these pointless things you will never have use for.” Shrugging, his fingers began to play with the water bottle he had, just staring blankly at the television.

Logan held the bag of chips that was handed to him.  He snickered when hearing him talk. “No need to be such a bitch.” He opened the bag and took one chip out, bringing it to his mouth before offering the bag to his friend, turning to look at him.

Elias shook his head at the other’s offer and sat back down where he was, drinking some of his water. He tried to get into the fight, but there was no possible way for that to happen. “I still can’t see the enjoyment with watching people almost kill each other.”

He couldn’t help but laugh at Elias’s words. “How is having a conversation leading someone on? Can you even hear yourself? You’re giving the most dumb excuses.” He shook his head at him, before shrugging. “Sure man, whatever.” He rolled his eyes at his words. “If I wanted something specific, I would have asked for it. Surprise me.”

Elias decided to ignore what Logan was saying. He didn’t think that he was making excuses. It was just how he saw things and he knew that Logan wouldn’t see it as that, so he decided to just give up. Finding some chips in the cabinet, he made his way back into the living room and handed them to Logan. “There. Enjoy.”

Logan decided to ignore Elias’s question, not really wanting to talk about his relationship with Victoria. “That’s what I’m saying. It’s like you’re waiting for someone to tell you you can be with someone. Plus, I didn’t tell you to marry her. You could have had a conversation with her.” He shrugged, even though Elias couldn’t see him. “A snack. It’s too late for dinner.

“Having a conversation with her would just be leading her on. I’m not interested in dating. Can we please just drop this conversation? I’m tired of it. There’s no point in it, it’s over and in the past now.” Elias continued to look around in Logan’s kitchen. “That doesn’t help much... what kind of snack do you want? Peanut butter and banana sandwich, fruit and vegetables, chips, something you have leftover.”

“What would be an opportunity to you? If she came up to you talking about how she wants to get married and have children with you? – Everything’s an opportunity if you know how to take advantage of it.” He watched as the male stood up and walked towards the kitchen. “I’m hungry.” he said, mostly hoping Elias would bring him something to eat. “I’m not saying I want to be boring, I’m just saying I’m not weird. There’s nothing weird about me.”

“No -- that would be creepy and I would have walked away. Who would come up to someone and just start saying things like that? Is that how you ended up with Victoria?” Elias took a sip of his water and then went to look around in the kitchen and what the other had in there. “What would you like to eat?” He called from the other room and looked through the cabinets. “Alright -- sure. You’re not weird.”

“Just because you’re busy with school, and don’t miss having a girlfriend, doesn’t mean you’re okay with being single for the rest of your life. Didn’t say you should go out looking, you didn’t really look for anything. But you have zero reasons to say no if a opportunity presents itself.” He shook his head. “What’s so weird about me? I’d say I’m pretty normal.”

“But I’m okay with being single and not having to worry about a girlfriend. And I don’t really think you going up to a girl, and telling her that I think she’s cute is much of an opportunity -- but I’m just saying.” Elias shrugged and stood up, going into the kitchen and grabbing a bottle of water. “Nobody is normal. Normal is boring. But if you want to be boring, go ahead. That’s a bit weird, but alright.”

He crossed his arms while the other one was talking. “Now you’re just lying.” Logan said curtly. He knew being lonely wasn’t something people didn’t mind, and Elias had no reason to want to be single forever. He scoffed at the male’s question, turning to look at him. “How do you make sense? You’re just weird.” Logan wasn’t trying to be mean or rude, although it might had come across as that, so he quickly said. “It’s okay, though. I still like you.” 

Elias turned his head, narrowing his eyes at the other. “I haven’t had a relationship in a while. It doesn’t bother me being single. I’m not going to go out there and look for someone to be with. It’s the last thing on my mind.” Elias brought his hand up, scratching his forehead and scrunched his nose. “Everyone has a little bit of weirdness in them. You’re weird as well, but you don’t see me complaining about it,” He said in a joking manner.

Logan didn’t say anything back to him saying he was interested in someone else, but as soon as he kept talking, the male opened his mouth to respond. “If you start thinking of reasons to not ask someone out, you’re always going to find them. Is that what you want? To be single forever?” he shrugged. “I don’t think anything. And a lot of things don’t make sense. You don’t make sense.”

“I actually don’t mind being single forever. I don’t remember the last time I’ve been with someone, and I’m doing just fine.” Maybe it was because he was stuck in his school work that he never really thought about being with someone, so it didn’t bother him, and with Logan saying it -- he was going to pretend that he wouldn’t end up thinking about it. It wasn’t something he wanted stuck in his thoughts. “How do I not make sense?”

“That makes zero sense.” he said, giving Elias a disdainful glare. “If you’re single and you think she’s attractive, why the hell wouldn’t you be interested in her? And what are you even talking about? Of course we’re interested in everyone we think it’s attractive. No one says ‘Oh yeah, I think she’s cute but I wouldn’t go out with her’ without a reason.“ He shrugged at his words, turning back to the tv. “Sure, but I doubt these guys train for hours and are willing to get beat up only to have a guy on top of them for a few seconds. Doesn’t make much sense.” 

“Well, what if my reason is that I’m already interested in someone, and I only find her attractive, and I just wouldn’t want to go out with her? I’m not going to make it awkward by going out with her and then feel like I’m not allowed there anymore if things don’t work out, and I would stop going. Because I would feel weird. But -- yeah. I’m not interested her in that way, even though you think I am.Shaking his head, he crossed his arms over his chest while staring at the television. “Apparently nothing makes sense to you.”

“Never. You showed interest in her and then regretted it when I went to talk to her. Just admit it.” he male raised his eyebrows at his friend, clearly waiting for his confession. the thought of restraining his words quickly leaving his mind. He was too stubborn to let this go without one of them admitting they were wrong, and Logan knew he did nothing wrong. He narrowed his eyes at his words, turning to the tv. “No. It’s just a sport. In football there’s also guys on top of each other. The satisfying part is the money one of them will get after winning the fight.”

“No I wasn’t. I just thought she was pretty. If I was interested in everyone I thought was attractive, I have a huge issue. Just let it go. It’s over with.” Elias knew that he would probably live with this whole thing for awhile, and he would have to try and tune it out or ignore i every time it came up, but right now he couldn’t, as he knew that Logan wasn’t right, no matter how much he wanted to be. And I’m pretty positive that there are some guys in football who love being on top or under other guys, but -- you know. We can go with your answer as well.”

Logan rolled his eyes at those words he had heard at least three times that night. “I heard you the first eighty times.” He released an audible sigh from between his lips, deciding not to say anything back to him. "She doesn’t.” he dropped the remote beside him when he found the UFC channel. “That doesn’t mean she doesn’t cry sometimes.”

“Then stop bringing it up,” Elias mumbled while crossing his arms over his chest. He watched whatever Logan put on, barely paying attention to it. “Got it.” This night definitely didn’t go the way he wanted it, but he was trying not to say anything as he knew that half of it was his fault, and mostly because he didn’t want to start another argument with his friend. “Would you want to be one of those guys? I don’t see what’s satisfying about it. Unless they like being on top of guys.”

“No, you start an argument by being mad at me for going to talk to the girl you’re interested in and for trying to argue with everything that I say.” he shook his head. “I didn’t drink that much. I mean, I had a few, but not enough to have a hangover. I’m not even that drunk.” he grabbed the tv remote and sat down by Elias’s side and put his feet up at the coffee table. He started going through the channels, Elias’ question reminding him to check his phone. He had two new pictures of his dad with Victoria. She was sleeping in the first one, but in the second one, she was awake. “I do miss her, but I don’t miss her crying.”

“I’m not interested in her,” Elias groaned while putting his head back against the couch and closed his eyes.”You’re the one that’s trying to argue. I haven’t done anything besides ask a stupid question.” Elias ran his hand over his face before shaking his head at him. “Sure, okay.” Elias mumbled, picking his head up and staring at the television as Logan went through the channels. “I thought she didn’t cry that much. She only cried once the last time I was here.”

Or anything, really. Why do I need medicine?” he narrowed his eyes at Elias with nothing but a confused expression on his face. He then left the kitchen to go to his room, changing from the clothes he was wearing to a regular t-shirt and shorts, like the ones he usually wore to stay home. 

“If I started an argument with a single question, I might as well go mute around you. You’re just getting pissed off by every little thing tonight.” Sighing, he took his shoes off and placed them by the door. “So you don’t wake up with a terrible headache in the morning.” Elias went to the couch and pulled out his phone, seeing a few text messages from his mother and his sister, asking what time he was getting home. He sent a quick on back, telling his mother that he was at Logan’s and he wasn’t sure what time he would be home. Shoving it back into his pocket, he glanced around. “Are you missing Vick?”

“I’m not jumping at anything.” he plucked the key from his pocket and opened the door with it, before taking it out of the lock and throwing it at the table. “Okay, fine, if it’s late and you want to go, then do it. I’m not gonna force you to stay.” he said nonchalantly, but still letting the door open for him to get inside. He walked up to the kitchen and the first thing he did was getting himself a glass of water. Logan was well aware of how much he had to drink, and wasn’t wanting to make a fool of himself, even in front of his best friend.

“I’m not a thing, but you sort of are. Whatever. Forget it. I don’t want to argue anymore.” Elias didn’t want to start another pointless argument. It wasn’t what he wanted to do that night. It definitely wasn’t something he had planned when he invited his friend to hang out. He stepped inside the apartment, closing and locking the door behind him. He took a few steps in, towards the kitchen, his eyes just moving over the apartment, like he hadn’t been there recently. “Make sure you take some medicine before you go to bed.”

“Pfft.” he shook his head at his teasing, pressing the button to his floor. “I can do all of those things with you there. You wouldn’t stop me from doing anything if I wanted to. Plus, why would I even invite you to my apartment if I wanted to do all of those things?” he rolled his eyes at Elias, elevating his voice as he spoke . “Okay, fine. You can go… Jesus. I’m sorry for wanting to hang out with you, okay? You can go do whatever the fuck you want.” as soon as the door of the elevator opened, Logan walked straight to his apartment door and took the keys out of his pocket, not looking back at Elias.

Elias groaned at how fast his tone switched and how he was acting. Getting off of the elevator behind him, and watching as the older male grabbed his keys, he placed his hand on his to stop him for a minute. "You need to calm the hell down.  It was just a question -- you don’t have to jump at me because of it. It’s late, that’s why I asked.” Letting go of Logan’s hand, he shoved his into his pockets. “I’ll just stop asking questions.”
