biography:
Elijah was a master in the kitchen from a young age. After Elijah’s younger twin siblings were born, their father took off with a younger woman and left their mother to care for three children. So while Elijah was only eight years old, he was stepping up and helping his mom out the most that he could. And with wanting to help her out more, he taught himself how to cook at a young age. He had a passion for it and he loved to see how others reacted to his cooking.
If anyone were to describe Elijah, it was always positive things. He would give the jacket off his back for someone who didn’t have one and he actually would do it. He was always about taking care of others because he knew that that’s what a guy was supposed to do. He saw that his father didn’t do it to his mother, but that’s not the kind of man he wanted to be. Eli was all about making sure others were comfortable and taken care of.
Going through school, there was a lot of pressure for Elijah. Mostly pressure that he put on himself with wanting to do the best in school that he could, take care of the twins, and help out his mom as much as he could while he had somewhat of a social life. When Eli was fourteen, just going into high school, his mom began to date this man who was the kind of father that the Davies children deserved. He took care of all of them, but the pressure never seemed to leave Elijah’s mind. He was still worried about letting down someone and that his mom’s new boyfriend would leave and he would have to pick up all the pieces again. This never happened, but the feeling still made him uneasy.
When it came time to college, Eli decided to remain at home and he went to the university of Heartford where he got his degree in culinary arts. In his senior year, he won a contest that allowed him to travel over to Paris and work with some of the biggest names in the culinary industry, including Gordon Ramsay. He was so ecstatic and he learned some of the best cooking techniques from him before returning back to Heartford. He has been back in Heartford since and he doesn’t plan on leaving, wanting his future to be in this great city he’s had the honor of calling home.
