The vampire couldn’t help but grin and she returned the other’s kiss, her own arms finding a place around her, coaxing her in against her chest. 

"Hmmm, can I have kisses like these all evening?"

"You can have anything you want, Anna. You know that well enough." The girl giggled, perching up on her toes to peck a swift playful kiss to the tip of Anna's nose before trailing an experimental trail of little kisses along the other's jaw line. Even now, silly as it was, a nervous flutter rose in her stomach with even the smallest of kisses and embraces with her Anna. She wasn't certain the giddy schoolgirl first love feeling would ever truly fade.

"Oh, and who is this?" he asked lightly, a smile finding its way into his features as he heard the oh-so-mortal voice from the other side of the door, working out for himself who this young woman must have been. "My name is Illan, miss. I believe my sister lives here, though I can tell that she’s not home at the minute…"

He was careful; he could tell that the young woman was nervous despite wondering who he was. He didn’t want to scare the poor woman half to death in his sibling’s absence, it would have been cruel and besides, Anneliese would never have forgiven him.

"Would it be alright if I waited for her? If you’d rather me wait out here that’s perfectly fine. I wouldn’t want to invade. I’m a stranger to you after all."

"I asked you first." She countered, still peering through the peephole as if the stranger could see her petulant little frown at her own question being turned back on her. But as he continued she softened, surprise claiming her features in place of the frown as she put two and two together. Of course. Anna had mentioned a brother in passing perhaps once or twice, but it had slipped Elise's mind until then. Still, she was a little wary even as she stepped off the chair to move it aside and unlatch the door. Immortals. Elise had come to know Anna and rarely thought of that difference any more, but to meet another that was unfamiliar to her was an entirely different story. 

Pulling the door open wide enough for him to pass through, she hesitantly stepped back a pace to make space for him...all of him. Christ on a cracker, what did they put in the water where they were from? Miracle Grow? "N-no, um...no, it's fine. Anna should be back shortly. Very shortly..." She made sure to point out, just in case. "I'm sorry, I should have known. You two look identical almost, but it'd slipped my mind that Anna had a sibling."

He’d often appeared at seemingly random intervals at his sister’s door, though in truth she never did mind, and Illan simply thought that if he should have all the time in the world then he may as well use it as best he could. By taking his own sweet and gentle time. With the news that his little sister had found a new love, he couldn’t keep away, if only for the sake of teasing her endlessly about it. Or this new love of hers. 

As the evening drew in he made his way to the residence he knew she’d claimed as of late, opting to be polite for once and knock in the mortal manner against the door, waiting patiently for an answer. Although… in true spirit of himself, he was completely tempted to simply walk on in and announce himself with a grin and a few playful taunts.

Elise was endlessly bored, having taken to holding her poor little kitten out at arm's length and zooming him around complete with airplane noises for something to do. Thankfully, the little fur ball didn't seem to mind and purred happily in hands despite the ridiculous display. Even in these short intervals of being without her beloved, Elise was finding it more and more difficult to keep herself entertained without the blonde beauty there. Anna had stepped out only for a short spell to..."grab some dinner"...and yet Elise was already going stir crazy. 

The knock at the door, however, caught her attention and she paused with the kitten hovering mid-air as she slid a confused glance to the front door. Who would be visiting at such an hour? Tucking the kitten in the crook of one arm, she used the other to drag a chair over to the door and stand upon it to peer out the door's peephole. (Damn living with a tall woman at times.) if she hadn't known better she would have though it was Anna turned male standing on the stoop. But no, that certainly wasn't a feasible conclusion. "Who is it?" She called warily through the door.

"Night, Adam!" Elise called with a pasted-on smile to the security man who let her out of the club’s backdoor with a warm grin and well-wishes for a good night and a safe walk home. Home…what a relative word. Still, she thanked him with a light nod and started down the string of alleys that led to her current residence: a run-down apartment complex a girl was letting her crash on the floor of her unit in. It was only as she was out of sight of the security guard that she let her face fall, a hand going to rub tenderly at a wicked bruise on her wrist that she’d hidden under her coat sleeve: a painful gift from a customer who didn’t understand the meaning of not touching the dancers. It was a fact of life working there, but she never quite got used to going home feeling like an attack victim every night. As she turned down another corner she heard footsteps shadowing her, keeping pace with her no matter how swiftly she sped up her movements or slowed them. With a heavy sigh, not bothering to turn and investigate, she called over her shoulder, "Look, if you’re tailing me to jump me or something just get it over with or leave, yeah? I don’t have the energy to cause a scene tonight, bud."

Of course not, there isn't a single thing you can say in way of arguing with me. But I'll let you try if you want to feel as though you attempted to change my mind with stern words, my darling one.

There's no sense in trying to change you're mind once you're set on something...and besides, i'm far too excited to argue.

Oh my darling, I said nothing of you paying. Leave that to me, I'll take care of that without you having to lift a single finger toward it. You needn't worry yourself over the likes of a passport or travel papers either for that matter.

I should have known...but I feel bad letting you do all of that, Anna, and not letting me help. Not being able to help. But, there's no arguing with you, is there, hm?

Why don't you and I do a spot of travelling, hmm? Lets go and see what trouble we can get into together. There must be places that you've yet to see and would love to, I'm almost sure of it.

There are a great many places, my love, but i'm afraid I don't have the resources for us to do so. I couldn't pay for myself.

"I promised that I would be yours..." she began softly, considering her words before she allowed them safe passage from his lips, uncurling her fingers from around a velvet covered box, nestled in the palm of her hand. "But would you promise to be mine, my love?"

"Anna...what are you getting at--oh Christ on a cracker," Elise's confusion at the sudden carefulness of her beloved gave way to awe as Anneliese extended the ring with the most beautiful of requests. At first all she could do was nod, her throat too tight with overwhelming emotion to be able to speak. Tears beaded in her lashes, finally releasing to fall down her cheeks as a beaming smile passed her lips. "Yes." She whispered, leaning up to kiss Anna so gently that it might have just been a brush of air, "I promise with all that I am, my dearest Anna." The words were so soft, so full of quiet joy murmured against Anna's lips.

"You are one of two things; terribly brave, or terribly drunk… but in either case… I cannot think of another I would rather be married to."

"Perhaps I should have drank before doing this...it would have made my hands stop shaking, at least." Elise said quietly, a little giddy-nervous giggle slipping past her lips as she slipped the delicate ring onto her love's finger, placing a breath of a kiss upon her knuckles. "Thank you, Anna. Thank you for accepting me into your life, my love. And thank you for blessing me with being lucky enough to love you."

Kitten || Elise & Anna

When she felt the girl’s hands connect with the tiny kitten, she gently transferred the little bundle of fluff to Elise, reaching out behind her to find the arm of the sofa to use it as a temporary seat whilst she spoke with Elise.

"She’d wandered into the garden of a contact of mine," she said softly with a warm smile as she explained the kitten’s origins. "He was rather unsure of what to do with the poor thing little, and well, I know you were after a feline friend so I offered to take her off of his hands."

"Oh my gracious..." She cooed, taking the tiny furry bundle into her arms and wrapping the kitten up in the blanket she'd been curled up with. The small thing was nervous, that much was obvious as her wide eyes darted about her new surroundings, but obviously that wasn't too much of an issue as she cuddled right up into Elise's chest and commenced purring. "Oh, Anna, she's perfection! Absolute perfection." Elise couldn't be more pleased, leaning down to plant a kiss between the kitten's ears, drawing the little creature to turn wide eyes up to her and mew. 

But the mew was off, tiny and sharp like a mouse's squeak, and Elise gave a fond little giggle. "She sounds like a little mouse. Are you a mouse, sweeting?" She held the kitten up to inspect and the little thing answered with another contented squeak. "I believe your name is mouse, my dear." Cuddling her kitten close to her breast, Elise scooted over to lay her head in Anna's lap where she had perched on the couch arm. "I can't thank you enough, Anna. She's far too perfect."

She hadn't been entirely truthful when she had told Elise that she'd let Christmas slip her mind; her only delay was purposeful. She'd arranged a late-evening collection of Elise's Christmas gift, something Elise had hinted at in conversation though she hadn't really asked for it. The blonde had dosed off, and the vampire had taken her chance and snuck out without the other noticing. She'd returned no more than 10 minutes later, Elise still contentedly dreaming on the sofa she'd curled up on.

"Elise, darling?" Carefully, Anneliese held the purring bundle of fur to her chest as she roused the sleeping girl with a soft smile. "There is a little someone who requires your attention." 

No visions of sugarplums or nutcrackers come to life invaded Elise's sleep, and, most importantly, not the chronic nightmares. For once, blessedly, she slept dreamlessly and deeply. So much so that it took several long moments to register Anna's gentle voice trying to wake her. "I didn't think we were expecting guests, Anna..." She mumbled sleepily, rolling over on her side from where she'd curled upon the sofa so she could see Anneliese. And what met her eye had Elise snapped away faster than a gunshot. "Oh my goodness!" The girl breathed, reaching out to gently scratched the little fluff ball's head, already smitten. "Where did this little creature come from?"
