Concept critique: Round 1. Ghost Town | S/S 19. Inspired by adventures in the West, I am choosing to design in the direction of casual street wear + camp style for my senior collection. I am going to demonstrate a heavy influence from the 70's and Monterey Pop festival fashion within my silhouette choice, fabric, and surface design. I'm also extremely passionate about sustainability and making every conscious effort to keep garments out of landfills; I am striving to inform consumers to take steps to be part of the process of making fashion sustainable. I believe that sustainability and environmental consciousness begins with the designer and the consumer alike. Fast fashion is killing us. There is waaay too much clothing in the world to keep producing more. I've sourced some vintage pieces that I will be reconstructing and up-cycling into something new-to-you. I'll also be including newly made fabrics that have been created through a sustainable textile manufacturing process, causing minimal waste and harm to the beautiful earth we all share. • • #ghosttown #ss19 #sustainabilitymatters #sustainabledesign #sustainablefashion #fashiondesign #ecofashion #ecoconscious #ecoconcept #stephenscollege #stephensdesign #elisemade #70sfashion #montereypopfestival #southwestern #southweststyle #colorado #mountaingirl #activelifestyle #beer #wishyouwerebeer #vintage #vintagesourcing #upcycledclothing #upcycle #fastfashionkills #fastfashionsucks (at Stephens College)
