Gage smiled some and shrugged a little bit. “That’s more than me,” he responded and looked at her. “I’m 32, FBI Agent, former Marine. I have one sister named Lindy and a niece named Cheyanne. She’s six months old and the best thing that’s ever happened to our family.” He looked at her and sighed. “I do what I do because of her. I want a safer world for her to live in, even if I’m just one man.”
Kenzie smirked a little bit and looked at him, raising a brow at him. She laughed a little bit and shook her head. “Does assassinations turn you on or something?” she moved to sit up and crawled off the bed, bending down to pick up her shirt.
Lia looked over at him. She smiled a little bit. She walked around the counter to him. "Sounds liked you could use a helping hand." She stopped just in front of him. "Children don't deserve to live in a cruel world like this. They deserve a chance to be young and free, to be... innocent and live.. just live..."
Elijah turned his head to look back at Kenzie. "I'm going to kill Argus. I suppose that could be a turn on," He turned around completely, then walked over and kissed her on the lips, briefly. "Depends on if he's dead or not when I'm done." He added, then went over to a large closet and opened it, pulling out a hand gun and making sure the magazine was full, and put it in his suit.
Gage watched her and he knew that she would need her space. So he gave her some — but as her bodyguard, he stayed close and watched her, wondering just what they had really gotten themselves into. And how she had gotten under his skin so easily. “So tell me about yourself. None of this — ” he waved a hand around them. ” — but about you.”
Kenzie accepted the kiss and slid her hands down his back before grabbing on to his tie. As his lips moved away from hers, she could feel a smirk on his face. Princess. She opened her eyes and looked at him as he got off the bed, leaving her there in her black pants and bra. She didn’t move to get up, watching him. “I’m okay with that.” She motioned to him. “So is you straightening your suit what you meant by me getting burned?” she teased.
Lia turned her head to look at Gage when he started to talk. She let go of the knife in her hands and looked over at him, her head tilting to the side. "This is me. This is my life." She beckoned around. "I'm thirty-two, I've got almost no life outside of this... I want to make children's lives brighter, I love... working at orphanages, and... that's why they're being targeted." She shrugged and looked down at the food in front of her. "What about you?"
Elijah turned around to look at her. "I have an assassination to attend." He quirked a brow. "When I return, perhaps we'll..." He just smirked and fixed his jacket.
Gage looked at her when she started talking to him. He laughed a little bit and sighed some. “I’ve seen worse than you,” he responded and looked her in the face. “I was in the military. You wouldn’t believe some of the depravity I saw over there. I was never more glad to get back here and even with this job, there are worse criminals than you.” he shrugged some. “None of us are good people.”
Kenzie looked at him and sniggered at his comment before kissing him again. She felt his fingers working the regulation blouse that she had been assigned to wear, removing it and pushing it off her shoulders. Once the offending garment was off, she slid one arm around his neck and her legs around his waist when he picked her up. “I might like the danger,” she murmured against his lips. She made a sound of surprise as he tossed her onto the bed.
The weight of his body over hers and his mouth against the swell of her breast sent pleasure throughout her body. Her hands wound in his hair and pushed herself up against him.
Elianna stared at him for a moment, then pulled her hand away. "I should go make something to eat." She backed away from him and nodded slightly, then turned and walked back towards the house. She glanced over her shoulder at him, then stepped inside the kitchen.
He leaned down and pressed one more long kiss against her lips. He pulled back, hands sliding down her hips. He smirked. "Kenzie, You've just been upgraded to a princess." He kissed underneath her jaw, then got up off the bed and went over to straighten up his suit, a sly smile on his face. "So Princess." He turned his head to look at her. "You're in this forever."
Gage looked over at her as she made her way toward the house. He started after her and grabbed her arm, pulling her close. “I just mean that I would have never thought you capable, but now I understand,” he said and held on to her hand, closing his eyes a minute before looking back toward the grave. “And I’m sorry about your brother.”
At his comment, Kenzie groaned and could feel her cheeks starting to redden again. She was a highly trained FBI agent, embarrassment should not be a problem for her. But it was. She heard the phone hit the floor, bouncing off the carpet. Moments later, her hands were above her head, pinned against the door. “I can’t help it that you are attractive. I’m not exactly blind, you know,” she remarked quietly, his mouth hovering over hers. “And what’s that?”
Elianna turned her head around to look at him when he grabbed her arm. She stared up at him, then took a step back towards him. "I was seven when he died." She said simply. "He was... maybe three." She took a step towards him, then looked down at their hands, and looked back up at him. "I'm not a good person." She said simply.
Elijah chuckled dryly. He leaned forward and covered her mouth with his, eyes fluttering closed as he did. He dropped her hands and undid the buttons on her shirt. He pushed her shirt back off her shoulders, his hands trailed down over her breasts and bra. He bit down on her lower lip and tugged, then backed off. "Because you can get burned." His hands slid under her hips and lifted her off the ground, then turned and tossed her down onto his bed, and he crawled up on top of her, his mouth finding the swell of her breast.
Gage looked at her and wasn’t sure that it was okay; they had infiltrated in the hopes of bringing them down but come to find out their intel was incredibly wrong. He felt embarrassed and angry but before he could respond, he was following her through the house and to the backyard where there were a line of headstones. “What’s this?”
Kenzie waited patiently for him to get off the phone with her superior and raised a brow, reaching for the phone. “Sir?” she questioned as she put the phone to her ear, starting to blush and nodded some. “Yes sir, right on it,” she replied and gave the phone back to him. She started out of the room, unable to keep the embarrassment off her face.
Elianna watched him. "Niklaus is dead. He has been for years." She walked forward and looked down at his hand. She reached out and slid her fingers through his. "The real King and Queen... are Elijah and I." She watched him. "We're the real villains."
Elijah watched her on the phone, then walked after her and pulled her right back into his room. He closed the door and turned to her, his hand strayed upwards into her hair, he leaned forward and he kissed her - wordlessly.
Gage looked at him and nodded some, tilting his head a bit to look at Kenzie as he said that. He looked in at Elianna before turning his attention back to Elijah as he spoke. “Neither of you will spend a moment in jail if you can prove they are the ones working with the terrorist cell in Afghanistan,” Gage responded and crossed his arms over his head. “You do that, we can make sure that you both are free from suspicion and the Knights are off the FBI radar.”
Kenzie looked at Gage and gave a nod before looking at Elijah. “Help us help you and I will get them on the horn,” she responded and pursed his lips together, sighing heavily as she watched Elijah go upstairs.
Gage looked over at Elianna after Kenzie went outside to check the perimeter and to get the head on the phone. “Yes, we are investigating a series of bombings across the country coming from a gang cell from this section of the country. We mistakenly believed it yours until we learned of Argus.” He looked at her. “Our informant gave us wrong information. I’m sorry, but I could not blow my cover.”
Kenzie walked back into the house and went upstairs, knocking on Elijah’s door. “Sir, my superior is on the phone.”
Elianna nodded to Gage. She leaned against the wall. "It's fine." She reached up and touched the bruise on her head, then walked over to him. She reached out and grabbed his hand. "Well if you're going to be my guard, you need to know something." She led him through the house to the backyard, through the grass and stopped short. She pointed towards some headstones.
Elijah stood up when she knocked on his door. He walked over and opened the door, then took the phone from her. "Hello, Mr. Nichols, a pleasure to be speaking with you again." He spent an hour on the phone with the head of the FBI, then handed the phone over to Kenzie. "He would like to speak with you." He said in an amused tone.
Gage helped her to the couch and called for someone to come look at the wound on her head. He stood there and exhaled a little bit, looking around as he heard his name. He frowned as it came from Elijah’s mouth, saying nothing as he started toward the hallway. They had been made — he had to be on his guard now.
Kenzie walked in from the back and exhaled slowly, waving at Elijah before meeting with Gage and Elijah in the hallway. “The children are safe,” she said and looked at Elijah.
“And Elianna is alright, shaken up, a doctor is in with her for a minor cut on her head. She needs some rest,” Gage responded. “And I take it you did some digging into us.”
Elijah turned his head as Gage came towards him, and so did Kenzie. He cleared his throat then nodded. "Thank you." He remarked to both of them. "I did. And I'd trust no one more than the FBI to keep my twin safe." He raised an eyebrow, then pointed to him. "I need you to keep her company, no one can come near her or this house until Argus is taken down. That means I need you to stay here. Indefinitely." He pointed at Gage, then he looked at Kenzie.
"Kenzie," He tilted his head as he addressed her. "I need you to contact your superiors. I need to have a word with them and," He paused and turned his hand, waving it back at Elianna. "Under the circumstances that Elianna will have immunity from any prosecution. I will not have her rot in jail." He turned his head to look at Gage. "You take care of my sister, or else." He added, before heading up stairs.
Elianna closed her eyes while a Doctor stitched the minor wound on her forehead. She turned her head and watched the Doctor finish up, then got up. She walked to the door of the living room. She leaned against the door frame and watched Gage. "FBI?"
Gage looked at her when she spoke and realized that this man was the one they should be targeting — not the Mikaelsons. He would have to talk to Kenzie about where to go next. He sighed some and shook his head. “Some men are so overdramatic,” he responded and watched as a mansion started to show in the distance. Before long, they pulled in front of the house and he ushered her inside.
Kenzie pulled the truck around the back of the mansion, telling the women in the back to go ahead and unload the children into the adjacent guesthouse, which was bigger than anything she had ever seen before. She got out of the truck and made her way toward the house, stepping inside and reporting on her progress.
Elianna got out of the car when they got to the mansion. She reached out for his shoulder, limping a little bit while heading towards the house. She closed her eyes and her left leg gave out, then she tried to push herself to stand up again. She looked over at Gage. "Yeah, some people are." She pointed to a couch in the living room. "I need to sit down. I'm tired."
Elijah had shown up not a moment after. He got out of his car and headed inside of the house immediately. He stepped inside the house and looked around. "Elianna? Kenzie, Gage." He called out loudly. "Secure the premises." He waved to the body guard who had come with him.
Gage sat next to her and looked over at her when she was speaking. “I highly doubt that,” he responded and had no idea were they were going. But he imagined that once they got there, they were going to have to get her some medical attention. He felt for her — living this lifestyle and always under threat of harm or death.
She felt her heart jump as his fingers moved through her hair, fighting the urge to lean into his hand. “Alright,” she responded and took the keys. She didn’t say anything and took off toward the motorcycle, getting on it and taking off toward the orphanage. Once there, the children were loaded safely. “Get out, I’m driving,” she responded to the driver, not having seen them before and tossed them out. She got into the truck and pulled away from the orphanage with the children safely tucked inside the bullet (and bombproof) vehicle.
Elianna lifted her head and looked up at him, her forehead was bleeding. "Argus, he was my fiance." She shifted uncomfortably. "And I didn't want him, or to be like him. He wanted to kill Elijah, and become leader of this city." She whispered. She turned her head to look up at him. "I turned Argus down." She said simply. "So he did this." She closed her eyes.
Elijah watched her go, then went back into the building and put it on lock down. He grabbed his bag and walked out of the room as fast as he could, heading for the safe house, on the opposite end of town.
“Don’t be, you didn’t plant it,” he responded and looked at Elijah who ordered him to take her out of there. He took her arm and started to lead her away quickly, using his new headset to call for a car for Elianna. Once that was achieved, he put her inside and he climbed in after her. The driver knew where to go in such instances so he took off without question. Apparently this was protocol.
Kenzie looked at him and reached for the paper. “Yes, do you trust me?” she questioned him and kept the paper in hand. If this man was as bold to do this underneath Niklaus’ nose, who knew what he was capable of where children were concerned?
Elianna got in, though she didn't want to. She looked over at Gage, then leaned into him. She closed her eyes. "I didn't have to plant it, it's still my fault." She turned her head to look at him quietly. She shifted and closed her eyes, feeling a headache coming on.
Elijah tilted his head slightly. He watched her quietly, then stepped forward and slid his fingers up through her hair. "I trust you with the children." He murmured. There was a distant loud bang. "Go. Hurry." He whispered. He held out a set of keys to her, then pointed to a motorcycle off to the side.
“I know it well enough,” he responded and he heard the click the second her key entered the lock. He grabbed her quickly and yanked her away. “COME ON!” he shouted and yanked her behind a concrete pile-on 50 feet away covering her with his body as the car exploded. He grunted as the blast shook the garage, several other cars being destroyed in the blast. Car alarms were going off and he could hear Elijah screaming.
Fear ran through Kenzie for Gage as she ran down the hall after Elijah. Once outside, she saw the mess. ” — Dave!” she shouted and looked around before seeing movement near a pile-on as Gage stood up and helped Elianna to her feet.
“We’ve gotta move,” Gage commented sternly as he walked toward them. Kenzie wanted to ask if he was okay, but now wasn’t the time.
Elianna screamed when he grabbed her and pulled her away, she had wrapped her arms around his torso, without thinking baout it and buried her face against his chest. She screamed when the bomb exploded. Her body shook and when the rubble settled, she lifted her head and looked over at the remains of her car. She looked back at Gage, moving to stand on her feet, looking fairly sheepish.
"I'm sorry..." She whispered awkwardly.
Elijah was relieved at the sight of Gage and Elianna being safely in one piece. "Get her out of here." He shouted to Gage, he turned to look at Kenzie, and handed her a piece of paper. "Evacuate the Orphanages immediately." He looked right into her eyes. "Do you trust me?"
Kenzie watched the men get up without a word and prepare to do their jobs without obvious complaint. She looked at Gage who gave her a nod and stood up, leaving the room to follow Elianna. It was his job now to be her bodyguard and make sure she was safe at all times.
“Not at all,” Gage responded and looked at her. “But it seems fitting of your personality thus far.”
Kenzie looked at Elijah and wondered what it was he wanted to talk to her about. When he started speaking, she widened her eyes and her flight instinct started to kick in but as his fingers touched her cheek, she forgot what she was doing for a moment. They had been made and was not going to end up dead — she took a deep breath and nodded some. “Thank you,” she said and closed her eyes as his fingers touched her face. “And we will prove that. So thank you — ”
Her heart was fluttering ridiculously as he kissed her cheek. You’re an FBI agent, for fuck sake, get it together. She watched him move around the table and open the door. “I won’t let you own, sir.”
Elianna turned around to look at Gage. "Oh? And you know my personality?" She tilted her head to the side curiously. She put her key in the car door to unlock the car. She turned the key, there was a loud ticking noise. Elianna didn't think much of it, reached for the door handle...
Elijah nodded to her before he walked out of the room. He stood silently in the hallway for a moment, before the building shook and he tok off running down the hall towards the parking garage. "ELIANNA!" He shouted loudly. Fear for his twin suddenly wracked through him.
And they both listened intently, Kenzie raising a brow and wondered where this objective came from. All of their own intel had said this gang was the one to be feared but perhaps they had been lead astray. They would have to send word to their superiors once they had more information. It seemed Gage was thinking the same thing. Once he gave her the job, she gave a nod. “You got it.” Orphanages?
Gage looked at him when he said that — wanting to know more about this Argus and why he was after Elianna. He noticed the woman looking at him and he winked at her before paying attention to their jobs at hand.
Elijah tilted his head, amused by the looks on their faces, or at the very least in their eyes. He cleared his throat and beckoned to the men. "Prepare." He stated simply, and they got up and left the room, however he turned to look at Kenzie and Gage. "Chloe, can I have a moment of your time? Davey, please escort my sister." Elianna got up from her seat and walked towards the door.
She walked down the hallway to go out to her car. She pushed her hair back and turned around to look at Gage. "Not what you expected?" She reached out to open her car door.
Elijah closed the door to the room. He turned to look at Kenzie. "The children are incredibly important to Elianna. And I know you are... undercover." He tilted his head. "I did a little digging last night, but just so we're clear, you have the wrong gang." He walked around the table and lifted her chin, so he could look right into her eyes. "I will allow you two to infiltrate my ranks, but you must understand, we are not the bad guys." He tilted his head then leaned forward and pressed a kiss against her cheek.
And then he moved around the table and opened the door to the room up.
Kenzie looked at Gage when he came back in, sitting down next to her. She turned her attention back to the man & woman at the table in front of her. She grinned a little bit and looked around at the other people in the room. “I’m Chloe Jasper and this is my ex-husband Davey,” she responded, pressing a hand to Gage’s arm. She remembered her alias and didn’t falter in it for a second as she met Elijah’s eyes.
Gage gave a smile and didn’t wave, just nodding in acknowledgement of his introduction. Kenzie folded her hands in front of her as she took in the people in front of them.
Elijah was looking directly at Kenzie, and amused look on his face. He raised an eyebrow, then turned his attention to watch Gage's face. "Welcome to the family, Chloe and Davey." He turned to the group and they started their meeting. Elianna was watching Gage curiously. She rested her head on her hand and barely listened to her brother as he discussed the drug trafficking with some of the men.
"Argus has his eyes set on Elianna. We will need to up the security around her. We can't let him get a hold of my sister." He reached out and touched Elianna's face, Elianna looked away. "Intel says Argus is planning to bomb yet another one of the orphanages. We'll work to move the children across town to the mansion. Chloe, I would like you to help head the movementof the children." He turned his head to look at Kenzie.
