The night seemed to pass by in a flash. The phrase âtime flies when youâre having funâ definitely rang true that evening. It was nice to be able to drink with a close friend, and it was refreshing to see Elias let loose and break free from his workaholic nature, even just for a few hours.
It was clear consuming high volumes of liquor was second nature to Renata, mostly due to the fact that she drank most nights to an extreme. Although, many would say the blonde had a dependency (and she most likely did), but she didnât quite see it that way. Ever since the death of Valerie, her intake of alcohol and illicit substances increased⌠enormously so.
Her friendâs question caused her to perk up a bit, straightening her posture on the couch, her long legs resting across Eliasâ. âNo, no! Heâs⌠heâs probably still working. I text- I texted him earlier.â Shrugging, she finished the last of what filled her glass before placing it down on the coffee table. Her icy gaze watched the other lawyer carefully whilst he slightly unbuttoned his shirt, causing Renata to lick her lips. He usually looked utterly fantastic, but relaxation looked good on him.
âWhy are you so fucking good looking?â The blonde slurred, moving a little closer to him until she could rest a hand on his thigh rather brazenly. âIâve⌠Iâve never said this before, but your accent⌠itâs kind of⌠hot. I didnât even know I liked Texan accents until now.â
Without missing a beat, Renata began to toy with the buttons of her own blouse, undoing them until the lace of her bra was on display. At that, she leaned in to press a kiss to the manâs lips, all other rational thoughts escaping her mind at that point.
"My wha'?" He asks when she places her hand on his thigh and compliments his accent. Her movements are too sudden for him to track; she goes from unbuttoning her shirt to reveal the top of her bra to kissing him within seconds it seems. It's a shocking moment, he didn't believe that he led her on at all, but at this point, all he could think about was how nice it was for them to kiss. Well, to be kissing, because of course, while being drunk, all rational went out the window. It's second nature right now to respond to her kissing him. It's gentle, nothing too pressing, but of course, he's hardening in his slacks because she has his hand on his thigh, close to his groin, and she's outrageously beautiful as well. Who wouldn't react the way he did? Her husband would be pissed if he found out. His normal brain would have thought this, but as of right now, he wasn't thinking straight at all.
After what seems like close to 5 minutes of just making out, he finally pulls away from her, resting his forehead against hers, taking deep breaths.
"W-...what about Max? We-.....we shouldn't be doing this......Ronnie would be pissed too....." It's hard to put a corherent scentence together but he gets out the gist of his concerns.
renataureum¡:
âThey couldnât? Thatâs a shame. You shouldnât have to give up on relationships, though. The right person will come along. If I was lucky enough to meet Max who consistently puts up with all my bullshit⌠someone will come into your life when you least expect it.â With a shrug, she took another sip of the amber liquid that filled her glass. It was as clear as day that Elias was a workaholic, but she hoped he was able to find a balance between his career and a personal life. He was a dear friend of hers, she wanted only the best for him.
As if the man had read her mind, she raised a brow curiously. Going back to his apartment sounded much better than being stuck in the confines of a crowded bar, plus, it gave way for a chance of privacy. âThatâs cool with me. Iâve never actually been to your apartment before.â The blonde quipped with a slight smirk, downing the rest of her drink before placing the empty back on the counter. âIâm ready when you are.
--Time Skip to Eliasâ Apartment--
It surprised him just how much wine that Renata could drink. He had expected them to at least finish off one bottle of wine, but three? Elias had decanted the last of the third bottle into their glasses, feeling himself sway slightly as he did so. He hadn't drank this much since college and it really showed. However, he didn't think that Renata would tease him too much about that. He allows the last drops of wine to drop into his glass before setting the bottle down a little to hard onto the coffee table in front of them. The two had sat on his couch with some light music playing in the background as they chatted casually about their lives outside of work. The wine had loosened them both up as planned, or as Renata had planned.
Elias picks up his glass and begins to drink it much as one would of a can of redbull. The faster he got through this glass the better, because then he wouldn't have to worry about it tipping over and staining the rug that he had under the table. He also hated to drink room temperature wine, he was a fan of whites rather than reds. Of course, the after taste makes him cringe a little, but he feels better now that his glass is empty. Placing the glass down on the table next to the bottle, he looks at Renata over his shoulder.
"Ya' sure your hus-....husband won' be too mad at you comin' home plastered?" He asks, his accent finally coming in full force now. He normally tried to keep it tame while at work, he had been teased during his first months about it. Some said it was a dead giveaway that he was from Texas while others had a hard time trying to understand him.
He begins to toe off his shoes, kicking them off to the side as he undoes a few of the buttons on his shirt. The sleeves were already rolled up to his elbows and his tie and jacket haphazardly hung on the coat rack near the front door. He was sufficently drunk and he looked about ready to fall asleep on his couch if it wasn't for the fact that Renata was here.

elena--luna¡:
Bringing the glass to her lips, Elena braced herself for a certainly entertaining story of a fatal attraction, flirtation, or whatever it was. Juicy details she wasnât interested in naturally, neither would Eliasâ the perfect gentleman he wasâ ever provide them but what he ended up saying completely threw her off. âWait⌠Relationship?â Len repeated after him in utter disbelief, a look of confusion written all over her face before she gulped down a mouthful her drink, images of Veronica with other people at the club flashing through her mind. However, it wasnât her place to burst Eliasâ bubble, it was none of her business, truly. Not to mention Veronica was someone Elena had a soft spot for and felt very protective over. âDonâtâ donât listen to anyone. If anyone knows anything about your⌠Relationship, itâs you two. A lot of people?â A snicker. âThe fuck do they know?â Elena said with a low chuckle. Relationships between people were complicated enough as it was, sometimes even people involved walked around in circles with questions marks hanging above their head. Elena, however, didnât want him to be one of those unfortunate people. âElias,â she began gently, tilting her head to the side as she looked at him. âDo you think sheâs using you? In what way would she be taking advantage of you anyway?â
The Veronica talk left Elena in a bit of a shock so she quickly finished her drink and was already eyeing the glass bottle for another one. âOh, yes, Iâd actually love that.â Len admitted with a soft smile which froze at his next words. âBut itâs my duty to be on edge, at all times. Iâmââ she glanced down. âResponsible for a lot of people. They all depend on me,â the second-in-command brought her gaze back to Elias, runnng fingers through chocolate locks. âHowever, I believe you.â At Chambre Noire Elena was safe. Armed, guarded, there were cameras and her spies all over the place. âAnd Iâd never ask anything similar of you. Itâs simpleâ I want to show them we can defeat them fair and square.â While Elena was hesitant to bring civillians into their mess, she was aware Mikael wasnât above asking such a thing of Elias. âYou have to be careful too. If you ever fear youâre in danger in any way, come to me immediately, alright? Promise me youâll be careful? ⌠And promise me that youâll bring a bottle red wine to the dinner.â Elena flashed a sweet smile at him, concluding on a lighter note.Â
He is a little surpirsed by how Elena reacts to the information he has just given her. That was the same reaction Renata had when he had told her too. Elias worries his bottom lip between his teeth and lets out a sigh when she asks about Veronica using him.
"I'd rather not go too deep into it right now, if I'm completely honest. Maybe over dinner? It feels a little odd to bring it up here with you, seeing as you're her boss." Elias scratches the back of his head and lets out a soft sigh before finishing off his drink. He listens to Elena talk and nods his head in agreement, his worried expression turning to fondness in a matter of seconds. "Of course, I'll always let you know if I need anything from you." Elias sets the glass down on the table next to him and slips his hands into his pockets. He didn't like drinking too much unless it was at his apartment. "What kind of friend would I be if I didn't?" He teases lightly. "I even remember your favorite bottle, so it will be a great night because of that." He winks and gives a chuckle before letting his shoulders relax.
"I am glad we are able to catch up, even if it isn't really conventional for us to do it right now. The circumstances really are unfortunate but I'm sure there will be ways to work around it." His gaze softens a bit, only wishing that Lucas was here with them as well. "I do need to be heading home as I've got quite a busy day tomorrow. It was really great being able to see you tonight, though." He hesitates before bringing out a business card, placing it on the table next to his empty glass. "If you ever need to reach out, you've got my info now."
renataureum¡:
When it came to enjoying the finer things in life, Renata was a professional. Alcohol, drugs, designer fashion, expensive homes, and regular yacht adventures⌠you name it. Her life afforded her all of that, and then some. She wasnât one to skimp on anything, going all out was a habit sheâd acquired early on in her life, initially egged on by her father when it came to buying her love. Of course, she was aware not everyone in this city was as extravagant as her, or could even afford such things. Still, it didnât stop her from going overboard.
âOf course. I completely understand that. My husband and I have a joke that Iâm cheating on him with my career sometimes, but luckily, as a woman, I can multitask.â Smirking, she made a point to move closer to him, without making it too obvious. âWell, youâre with me tonight. Iâm the life of the party. Maybe I could loosen you up a little bit?â Her suggestion was genuine⌠it was clear the man was engrossed in his career more than anything else. âHow about we make this a celebration? Iâve got a tab here. Letâs have a little fun.â Taking the next step then, she rested her hand on Eliasâ suit-covered bicep, her idea provoking a cheeky grin.
For some reason, he's oblivious to the fact that she is making a pass at him. However, the thought of having a relaxed night piqued his interest. he hadn't had a good fun night in a while. Not since college if he remembered correctly. Those were the days that he would get crossfaded and party with his friends. He left that life style once he started working as a full time lawyer. He couldn't let that life merge with his professional life at all. Elias had to act like the lawyer he wanted to be.
"My previous lovers couldn't handle how much I worked. Kinda the reason why I gave up on having any sort of romantic relationships." Elias shrugs his shoulders and sighs. He lived a very lonely life and he was tired of it. It was sad that he only realized that now at the age of 52.
"A few drinks wouldn't hurt." He muses softly. "Though, I'd hate to be a buzz kill. I'd rather much be at my apartment in case I get too drunk to drive." He looks down at Renata with a gentle smile. "I can always get you an Uber too." Like the gentleman that he is, he is thinking ahead since technically they both came in his car. Her vehicle was back at the office, so she wouldn't have a way to get back home and he didn't trust her to drink and drive either. He trusted no one with that.
âOh! I didnât mean to fall asleep leaning on you.â AND/OR âDonât stop stroking my hairâŚâ
It was an odd sensation having Elena next to him like this. She had came over after a long shift and had asked if it was alright if she just rested her eyes for a moment. Being the gentleman he was, he allowed her to. Though, he hadnât expected her to actually fall asleep leaning on his shoulder. Elias had frozen in his spot, not knowing what to do. Should he wake her and say she could lay on the couch or even take his bed or should he just let her be? Elena looked so worn out these days, maybe some uninterrupted sleep would do her some good. Sleep also sounded good for him too. He got himself comfortable, wrapping his arm around her shoulders, allowing her to move her head to rest on his chest as he propped his feet onto the coffee table in front of them.
She wakes up at an early hour of the morning and Elias lets out a yawn. He is a little stunned at her apology but gives a warm smile.
âYou needed the sleep. I wasnât going to make you move.â He says with a sleepy voice.

elena--luna¡:
Elena gave him a simple nod in understanding, if she met a straight man with two healthy eyes who wasnât completely smitten with Veronica, sheâd either call him a liar or a madman. The brunette grinned slightly, making sure to add a chuckle too. âOh, have you now?â Something about his confession didnât sit right with her, it borderline bothered her but she told herself it was the way Elias spoke; she sensed there was definitely more truth to his blooming relationship than he let on. âElias,â she gave him a look, a playful spark in her tired eyes. âYouâre a good lawyer, one of the best, really, but Iâve known you for years now so I can tell when youâre not telling the whole truth. Come on, you know you can be honest with me. I wouldnât judge, least of all people you.â Some things never changed and Elena was glad, glad there was one person in her life she could still feel at home with. Granted, he wasnât supposed to be in her life anymore and he could betray her in a flash but tonight? Elena decided to count her blessings. After all, her siblings, fellow mafia members and the rest of associatesâ after all those years sheâd take a look at some of them and realize they were all still strangers, in one way or another. Some habits never died either and Eliasâ knuckle cracking was a proof. A fond smile found its way to her lips as her hand covered his, a thumb tenderly brushing over those knuckles. A soothing gesture to assure him he didnât have to feel bad or awkward. Odds were against them, soon they might mortal enemies, maybe even as soon as tomorrow but in this very moment he could count on her to be his friendâ since Lucas couldnât beâ or whatever else he needed. Either way, Elena wholeheartedly agreed with Eliasâ a drink would be most welcome. The brunette made her way over to the glass bar cart and poured them each a generous amount of the golden liquid. âCooking relaxes me,â she told him. Nothing like a glass of wine, some mellow music and creating a delicious meal to calm her nerves. Len bit down on her lip as her gaze lowered to her watch. âHowever, youâre right, I havenât realized how late it is,â a nervous chuckle escaped her lips. âTomorrow maybe? Or when youâre not busy with one of my girls?â Elena questioned, hopeful, handing over the drink. âMake yourself comfortable, please.â The manager surely did, hopping up on one of the tables. âRough day?â
He knows that he should have been straight forward with her. However, Elias was a gentleman after all and one from the south to boot. He didn't like to be crass that much, but sometimes, well especially around Lucas and Elena, he could relax a bit more. Maybe he could open up about his concerns regarding his relationship with Veronica.
"A lot of people have said that she's been using me and I don't know if I should believe them or not." The lawyer says truthfully. "I understand the hestiation, but I just...feel that we have a pretty stable relationship? Well, at least from my prospective. I've been meaning to have this talk with her but she always seems to be ready to leave or change the topic when I try and bring it up. I've tried to talk to her on the phone, but she will say that she's about to clock in for work." He swallows hard and sighs. "I just....I know I don't have the best track record when it comes to partners, so I think I might be misreading this whole thing?" He didn't want the others to be right, he wanted to believe that he and Veronica had something and that she wasn't using him.
Elias takes the drink and thanks her softly before sitting down on one of the sofas, crossing his right leg over his left. He sips the drink, a smile coming to his lips. She really did know how to make a great drink after all.
"We can try and schedule something if that makes it easier on you? I know that this is quite the predicament we are in,..." He gestures between the two of them,"...but I see no reason to be so on edge. I've got no reasons to turn on the Aureums or you for that matter."
renataureum¡:
âAh, heâd like that, Iâm sure.â Renata replied with a nod of her head, taking a moment to admire Eliasâ physique as he stood up. He was attractive⌠there was no doubt about that, and Renata found herself to be teeming with desire for him. Her new arrangement with her husband, an open relationship, was sparking an idea into her mind⌠the only obstacle was the woman her friend was so infatuated with. âThat sounds like the perfect idea, if you donât mind calling, that is.â
Well aware of the fact she probably should have turned her filter on (did she even have one?), but when it came to her friends, Ren was fiercely protective, almost in an intense fashion. Sometimes it was a blessing, other times it was a curse. âYouâre in love with her? Oh. I didnât realise it was that seriousâŚâ She sighed then, standing up before reaching for her purse. âWell, if youâre happy.â Her words were laced with sarcasm, but he was probably right⌠his heart was so much kinder than hers. It was obvious.
â TIME SKIP: SEVERAL HOURS LATER â
Dinner had been the right time to delve into business discussions, enjoying gourmet food, while getting shit done. The best of both worlds, right? Thatâs what Renata liked. Work and pleasure. After the work talk was done for the evening, she suggested they retreat to her usual bar to wind down⌠some liquid comfort, and a way to free themselves from the stresses of the day. She also figured itâd help him relax after the huge offer heâd been given earlier on.
âSo, how have you been? Away from⌠work⌠all that shit⌠I hope youâre having fun, hm? It canât always be working yourself to the bone.â
Dinner had gone surprisingly well. He was happy of what they accomplished work wise while also enjoying some great food. He had made a note to try and take Veronica here later. However, he could tell that Renata wanted to enjoy the night a little bit more. Elias wouldn't consider himself old persay, but he rarely stayed out too late anymore unless he was going to see Ronnie. But he reasoned with himself that he should enjoy some time alone with a good friend and coworker.
The bar was a bit crowded but still enjoyable. They could find their own little corner away from most of the crowd. Elias had offered to buy their first round like the gentleman that he was. He wasn't expecting Renata to ask if he was having fun. Could he consider his work fun? Did he do anything fun outisde of work besides handing around Veronica?
"Well..." He takes a pause to sip some of his beer,"...I haven't really done anything some would consider fun outside of work. I like to keep myself busy with my career. If I'm not at work, I am at home or hanging around Veronica." Elias shrugs his shoulders. "Ewan has made it apparent that my work load is only going to get bigger so I guess I'm not going to have much time to have fun anymore."
elena--luna¡:
Elenaâs hand dropped from the holster to her side and despite a wave of relief washing over her, she remained aware of the gun, in case she needed to use it. âYou never know,â the brunette replied with a flicker of amusement flashing through her sleepy eyes. âThere are all kinds of creeps lurking aroundâ but you know this, this isnât your first time here.â Elena had brought her several methods of dealing with drunkards to perfection, each one hundred percent effectiveâ which ironically enough didnât make dealing with them any less exhausting. âVeronica? You hang out with Ronnie?â Elena questioned with a soft smile gracing her lips, the sole mention of the lively girl never failed to bring a smile to her lips. Not to mention she was aware of her popularity among their clients. The creeps of the world or Veronicaâ no matter what or who the topic of conversation was, they always returned to the one person they had in common. The brunette was deeply touched by his words; to hear someone important to Lucas cared was almost like sensing he was around. At first she didnât know what to say and instead of speaking, she brought her cool hands to her cheeks, still flushed from the nap. An inner voice, voice of reason and caution questioned Eliasâ true intentions. However, if Lucasâ words resonated within her to this day; why was it so hard to accept his best friend felt the same way? âWe canât exactly be seen together, darling,â tilted her head to the side, she reminded him gently. Yet, she wouldnât pass up an opportunity to catch up with Elias. With him around, she felt closer to Lucas. With Elias around, she felt better. âHow about,â she straightened her back and a light smile claimed her lips as an idea came to mind. âWe go back to my place? We can dust off the bottle of whiskey I bought in Scotland many, many years ago, I can cook you your favorite food, we can watch old photographs and make fun of how young and stupid we were?â Not like either of them was old now but emotionally speaking? Elena felt one thousand years old.
"Yeah. I've been...." He hesitates for a bit on his wording,"...seeing Veronica a bit more regularly. I am uncertain of what to label it as but we've been a bit more than friendly lately." He didn't want to be crass and say that he was fucking one of her dancers and possibly caught feelings for her. He hestiated because for the longest time, Elias had pined after Elena. Lucas had been extremely lucky to have Elena in his life. He knew there wasn't a chance at all once the two were married, but he could at least support them as much as he could despite the fact that they had moved to LA while he stayed in Texas. Though, he could say that both of their worlds were rocked when Lucas had passed. He'd lost his best friend and she had lost the love of her life.
He is pulled from his thoughts when she reminds them that they really can't be seen together. He knew that she was a Luna but hadn't realized she was that kind of Luna. It made much more sense now and he immediately felt like an idiot for the oversight. However, he is elated when she says that they could go back to her place and catch up there.
"Oh, there isn't any need to cook if you don't want to. You've had quite a long day. We could always pick up someothing or have it delivered." Elias cracks his knuckles, a nervous habit that he hadn't really kicked since high schooL. "But a good whiskey would hit the spot right about now." He too had had a long day and a nice drink would help relax him.
elena--luna¡:
a closed starter for: @elixs-bernhxrt-schxfer¡ location: Chambre Noire. time: late night.
After another exhausting night at Chambre Noire, Elena tried to get some rest curled up on a lunge sofa in one of the dressing rooms. Despite her eyes being closed, her mind was still in overdrive, her muscles tense. Lately it seemed impossible to calm her mind enough to get some sleep so she learned to make do with brief power naps. However, in those rare moments of silence, she found herself going back to some of the most cherished memories, allowing them to lull her into a sense of comfort. Do you believe in afterlife? Lucasâ question reached her and the woman snickered, giving him a look of disbelief. It was the most random question, yet Elena replied honestly, shrugging her shoulders. âI donât know, Iâm not sure I believe there anything after death.â A discussion ensued with them exchanging opinions and theories, pausing mid-sentence to kiss one another, making fun of each other in the process too. âWherever we go after we die, Iâm sure weâll find each other.â Lucas concluded, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. The sweetest part followed, however real life had to intervene and the sound of footsteps on the creaking wooden floor reached her. Her peaceful moment was over and in the matter of seconds, Elena jumped to her feet, placing a hand on the gun in her holster. Cautious and with adrenaline pumping through her veins, she approached the door only to spot a face she was rather fond of. Or had been, before all hell broke loose. âElias,â she couldnât help but greet the man with a tender, her eyes lighting up at the sight of Lucasâ closest friend and best man in their wedding. âItâsâ good to see you.â Was she even allowed to say that? Elena couldnât be certain but she couldnât help it, not after the dream sheâd had just moments ago reminded her of some happier times. âAre you here to compliment one of the dancers?â Her smile turned into a grin.
While more often than not Elias came to Chambre Noire to see Veronica, tonight was a night that she was off and wanted to spend time alone. That worked out well for him because had been meaning to reach out to Elena. He had been so caught up in working for the Aureums that he couldn't really take the time to reach out to her after Lucas had passed. The last time they had really spoken to one another was at his funeral. Of course, he cared for his best friend's wife, she was practically like his sister , but work made it very difficult to request time off to go and see her. He could only hope she would understand. Even when he and Veronica started seeing each other, he hadn't really seen Elena around the club. It was only when Veronica had mentioned that Elena was her boss that he'd pieced the two names together after questioning Veronica a bit further on who her boss was. Since he had been at the club so often, the bouncers were more than willing to let him up to where Elena's office was when he mentioned that he was there to see her. Thankfully, they even told him exactly where she was. He wondered what her reaction would be and he could only hope that she could forgive him for not seeing her sooner.
It was one of his first times really in one of the dressing rooms. A few of the dancers waved to him as he stepped in as they were leaving, of course recognizing him. He nods in acknowledgement and offers a kind smile as he slips past them. He can see that Elena is on one of the couches, seemingly resting her eyes. She most likely had a hard night, which made him all the more worried. He could only hope that she wasn't working herself to death. As he nears, he sees her reaction and brings his hands up in defense, spotting how she reached for her weapon. She was of course on guard, and he couldn't blame her.
"Whoah there tiger, not here to hurt you. Don't need to pull a gun on me." His eyes flash from content, to fear, and stops on worried before turning to caution."It's good to see you too." He pauses, his eyes glancing down at her holstered weapon again. "Actually, no. Veronica is off tonight, as you know, and I thought I should come by to check up on you...." because I promised Lucas that I would no matter what. He swallows a bit and takes a deep breath. "I realized that I haven't really been around and I just first wanted to apologize about that. I'm hoping I can make that up to you by getting you some dinner while we catch up?"
renataureum¡:
With a small smirk, Renata nodding towards Elias, in complete agreement with the idea. She didnât want the man to have a lapse in judgement when it came to the offer. He had to be one hundred and ten percent certain his direction in his place with her family and Ewan. âGood idea. I wouldnât mind getting some dinner. Max is attending to business tonight, I probably wonât see him until later tonight.â Her husband was a loyal man, something the woman found to be vital to have a relationship with her. She never questioned his whereabouts when it came to his job.Â
The mention of Veronica Soral almost provoked an eye roll from the blonde. It was as clear as day that she was more important to Elias than he was to the young dancer. This man needed to be aware of that, and she wasnât afraid to give him the cold, hard truth. âYouâre still seeing her?â She questioned with a raised brow, a slender finger curling a strange of blonde hair around it.
âOh, that sounds good. Now youâve increased my hunger.â Chuckling, she glanced down at her phone screen to check the time. It was nearing 7pm⌠the perfect time to pack up for the day, and perhaps let loose⌠even just a little. âWould you like to go now? I was planning to leave soon anyway⌠Iâve had enough of this shit for the day.â
"Oh, a shame. I'd love to have Max join some time. It's been a while since I've seen him." Elias says as he stands up from his seat. He tucks the file under his arm and checks his watch. "I can try and make a reservation before we head out. I'd rather us not wait too long for a table."
Elias arches an eyebrow at the sudden reaction to him mentioning Veronica. He knew that Renata wasn't the biggest fan of her, but it hurt a little to see a friend react like that to his love life. "Yes, I am still seeing her. There hasn't been a reason for us to break up." He sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose. "You should really just try and get to know her. Maybe then you'd be more welcoming to the fact that I am indeed in love with her." He finally sighs and rolls his shoulders to release some tension. "She isn't as bad as you believe her to be."

With her focus on Elias not dissipating in the slightest, Renata shrugged. It was a rare occasion for the blonde to take note of someone elseâs strengths other than that of herself, her husband or siblings, but with Elias⌠sheâd hit it off with him from the moment they met. Maybe it was her attraction towards him that fuelled her fondness of the man, but she saw greatness in him. Sure, he hadnât been working with the family for as long as everyone else, but when it came down to it, sheâd pick him a million times over some of the schmucks doing their dirtiest work.
âYouâve got a point. But please, this is Ewan weâre talking about. I know him, and he doesnât take things like this lightly. Frankly, Iâd be flattered. Youâve obviously proved yourself enough. Of course, thereâs still work to do. A lot of it⌠but just think about it. Consider it. I promise me, itâll be worth your while.â Her words were as sweet as honey, and her tone was stern, yet comforting. At that, she glanced down at the folder in front of her briefly, then back up at her associate. âMy advice would be to go home⌠sleep on it, take a day or two⌠not too long. Donât leave him hanging, but we need you to be sure about your answer. Thereâs no going back and forth. Iâm sure you can arrange to meet with him and delve into the proposition some more. If youâd like me to accompany you and give some extra guidance, Iâm pleased to be of assistance. Would you like that?â
He listens to what Renata has to say and simply nods his head along. She really did have a point to all of this. He was glad that he did come to her to try and clear the thoughts and questions in his head.
"Yeah....I'll probably sleep on it." Elias says after she's finished speaking. "Maybe we can talk it about it over dinner tonight? Veronica is working tonight and mentioned she wouldn't be able to come over afterwards, so that frees up my night." He shrugs his shoulders. He saw nothing wrong with his "girlfriend" doing such things. Though it seemed like she often didn't come over after work more now. Which was odd, but he wasn't going to push for her to do something that she didn't want.
"I heard a new asian fusion restaurant just opened up. I've been wanting to go, just never had the chance to."
