being in someone's prayers is the purest form of real love
Honestly the best piece of advice I can give to younger girls trying to figure life out is to completely ignore men. I’m not being quirky or cute when I say that, I mean it seriously. Ignore men’s judgments of you, ignore their insincere compliments, ignore their half-assed romance. Focus on developing yourself. Practice your art, play sports, do theater, volunteer, spend time with your friends, but do not put substantial effort into pleasing men. They’ll be there for you to pursue when the time comes and if you want to. But nothing will waste your youth more than fighting for male acceptance.
“And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.”

“Love, I know you are trying to be everything all at once: a person with their future figured out, a girl who’s learned how to make a home of herself, someone who knows when to keep fighting and when to give up. Promise me to live each day as it comes, and not to worry too much. I swear, no one knows what it is they’re supposed to be doing anyway.”

“Human beings grow best with encouragement and love. Today let every word you speak (to yourself and others) be filled with kindness.”

life gets a whooooole lot more beautiful once you start living for yourself and accept the fact that you can’t please everyone

i admire people who could’ve turned cold after everything they’ve been through but still chose love anyway. there’s strength in that
I don’t dream about you anymore.

Sometimes I remind myself that I almost skipped the party, that I almost went to a different college, that the whim of a minute could have changed everything and everyone. Our lives, so settled, so specific, are built on happenstance.

If you want to know what heart break sounds like, ask someone why they don’t talk to the person that meant the most to them in high school.
