“Hey - I don’t care yovu’re his ex. I’m here to listen.” She shrugged her shoulders. She knew she probably shouldn’t but she rather liked Avery. “It’s crazy...i’m finally gonna move out of Dannys place.”

“Ok, I meant don’t say it. I don’t really disagree with you, but others will” he’d had that argument already. He probably should care more about his father, he just never saw the point. His father had never cared about him. “We always will be, long as we stick to the rules he’ll just pretend otherwise”. 

“That’s for them. And besides, it’s not like anyone cares about what we’re saying.” She muttered with a shrug of her shoulders. Eliza had given up trying to care about her parents. “Wehn have I ever stuck to the rules?”

“I know that I don’t have to, but I want to. This whole thing is coming up quick and I don’t want you to feel unsettled.” He shrugged. “She’s due in July. We have about a month to get things settled before the babies are here.”

“I know. And I will pay you back. For everything. I just - I don’t want to be in anyones debt.” She srugged her shoulders ever so slightly. “How’s that deadline feeling?”

Daniel: Isley and I are going to host a dinner if anyone would like to join. This Sunday, 6 PM.

Eliza: That sounds perfect to me honestly. What's on the menu?x

“Can’t say that” not around the others. He knew how the reacted once he had said it. The problem was he still did want it. Strange, the man was their father. “No, he is bothered. Image remember. Give it time, his plan will come to light”.

“I just did” She snapped with a roll of her eyes. She wasn’t going to pretend like she was okay with all of it. She hated her father and it was no secret. Eliza shook her hea.d. “I’m not a bennett to him.”

                  he pauses as he hears a noise at the end of the hall, sounds catching his attention, “ who’s there? ”

eliza raised an eyebrow ever so slightly as she heard his voice, “why do you need to know?”

“I’ll cheers to anything if it involves me drinking more of this delicious coffee,” Sam said with a chuckle as he tapped his coffee cup with the other raised in front of him.

“This delicious coffee?” Eliza asked with a raise of an eyebrow. “If you think this is delicious you need to try more coffee, babe.”

“Caprese salad, dressing on the side and no onions and a water with no ice.” She repeated herself, then sighed. “I’m sorry. I’m having one of those days where everything has gone wrong. I didn’t mean to snap at you.”

Eliza nodded her head ever so slightly as Avery spoke, making sure to write the order down as she did so. She shook her head as Avery apologised to her. “No worries. Anything you wanna talk about?”

“Of course not, that was in his control”. He shrugged, “why are you so surprised? This is who are parents are. Everything is about image, and long as we’re alive, we affect their image. Won’t be free of him until he’s six feet under”.

Eliza rolled er eyes ever so slightly as Drew spoke. “Hopefully sooner rather than later.” She muttered with a shake of her head. “But hey - makes sense as to why he’s not bothered about me huh?”

“Okay, well if you’re serious about finding your own place then we should start looking now. The house is going to be done within the next couple of weeks. I can help you put down a deposit and all of that once you find a place.” He offered. “I know.. I’m through the roof. I can’t wait for them to be here.”

Eliza nodded her head ever so slightly as Daniel spoke. “You really don’t have to do that Danny. I can look after myseslf.” Se muttered with a nod of her head. Shed figure it out. “How long now?”

Asher stuttered for a moment, a long and drawn out ‘uh’ coming from his mouth and making him look extra dense. “I don’t know,” he said then, “For getting in your way?”

Eliza narrowed her eyes ever so slightly as Asher spoke....Before she let out a short laugh. “I’m not scary. You don’t have to act like it.”

“Don’t ask silly questions then”. He shrugged at her question, “what do you expect? You and Danny ran away in his eyes. He had to send someone he trusted to make sure you didn’t ruin the family name”. 

“It wasn’t a silly question.” Eliza snapped. “Are you joking? We’re grown adults! We are allowed to go wherever the hell we want to and hey, he didn’t care that much when he sent me off to fucking boarding school.”
