Thanks though, babe.” She had already called an Uber to drop them off on the busiest street of Hollywood, the location for their video. Ivy loved competing with Cam, especially if it meant if she got to film it. This time, it was who could ask more tourists where Broadway was. Obviously, Cam’s idea. “The uber’s here in like, 20 seconds.”

Routines are pretty nice. They better be treating you nicely over there. School’s... hectic, but I kinda love it. I’m like, the only person in class not snoozing away the lectures. You snooze, you lose, I guess.

Well, I guess I should update you all on what’s been going on. Had my court date and was obviously sentenced. I had to spend at least the weekend locked up and I now have five years of probation. I also have to do volunteer work and my probation officer has been kind enough to let me pick what I want to do. The downside is I have no idea what to do and I need an answer by the weekend so if anyone has any suggestions, I’d appreciate it.

So not only did dude from Rocky Horror decide it was him and not me this past weekend on our second date- I have to go to the doctor’s on Friday because I think I may have torn my rotator cuff. So, like, that’s my life. I know I shouldn’t complain because others have it worse but I am going to complain.

open starter —

Leo was finally reaching the tail end of a very busy day. On top of her school work, she had been in and out of meetings all morning, courtesy of her professors (with a little nudge from her dads). She was laying down the groundwork for her career, which was exciting, but also terrifying. After she wrapped up her last meeting in the Flatiron District, she immediately got on a subway back to Brooklyn. She needed a drink. Leo took the R and hopped off on 4th ave to try to catch the happy hour at Ginger’s. While she was walking, her phone rang and when she saw who it was, immediately picked up with a smile. “Hey,” she answered, not giving the person on the other line much of a choice, “I’m about to walk into Ginger’s for a drink. If you love me, you’ll come meet me.”

Ivy sat by her work desk, attentively editing a video she really didn’t need to start on until later of the week. She was totally not procrastinating on her pediatric nutrition homework that had been lying untouched for two days. She swore to herself that she would get to it, just not now. Going through the clips from Cam’s karaoke night, a bright smile lured on her face seeing all of her friends being absolutely dorks. No matter how much drama there had been between the group, she couldn’t have imagined living without them. Thank God for that glee club bringing their parents so close together. Upon browsing the clips from the weekend, she found one of Leo being her fun, unrestrained self on camera. It was actually ridiculous how fond Ivy was of her, how her whole body would tingle at the simple sight of her. There weren’t a lot of people she had experienced this kind of... feeling... crush?... for, and she couldn’t quite grasp why she gravitated so much towards Leo. Something in her felt the intense need to grab the phone and call her ASAP, although she didn’t even know what she would say. 

Before her brain could process it, her hand had already dialed Leo’s number and pressed the phone against her ear. It wasn’t until Leo actually answered and talked that she realized what she had done. “Hi,” Ivy said breathlessly, quickly clearing her throat to normalize her voice. She was certain her heart stopped upon Leo’s last words, her mind lingering on “if you love me”. Welp. “That’s so random! I was just thinking about if you wanted to get a head start on that bar crawl video.” She temporarily muted her microphone, just so she could let out the biggest breath, almost impressed by how she managed to save herself from being a total wreck. “I can be there in 15?”
