Cage of Betrayal Part 2;

With a little strength, Hu-Ye has pushed Kiri to the rough floor of the prison. She gave a rasping gasp, rubbed her neck, looked up, and saw the glares. Like a predator hovering over prey during the hunt. "Family...I have no one." He scoffs. Kiri has to sit up. Ignoring the wet tears down her cheeks, placing her hands on the beating heart, determined to bring good memories of their past as best friends, and wished he would come back. "You have scientists, the clan, and us! You were never alone--" She had paused to see the darkening aura from Hu-ye's side. A face Kiri has never seen before. It sent the wave of chill down her spine. "Them? Don't be preposterous, Kiri. I was their ward. They may have raised me...but they never fully accept me. They were trying to keep me alive until I was old enough to take care of myself. As for the clan? They never look at me as a friend. Or ally. They see me as him. All thanks to your blind mother." Hu-ye leaned back on the wall and spat his saliva. Despite the small cell with no windows, only the air filter holes, swishing his pointed ears to hear any noises from outside, hoping to recognize his Ikran, Twilight's wings from the sky, but instead, he can hear the silent whimpering from Kiri. "And do you really think I am part of your family, Kiri?" Slowly, he has grabbed his scrappy loincloth. Dried leather. Old. Broken. And there is no song-chord. He spewed venomous tone towards her. At that moment, Kiri can feel the heavy pain within her. Desperately to heal his broken heart. "No, Spider! You are not a pet! You are a friend, brother--" Hu-ye has broken two bamboo rods as they were made of wood, grip on her neck, this time, a painful choking, and sees his sharpened fangs. Hissing violently. And glares with empty eyes upon her. "My name is Hu-ye now. That name has died with the body I left behind. Go back to your family, Sully." Kiri has fallen backwards. As she left, Hu-ye wiped his hand on the floor, face up to the vents, hoping to hear any sounds of Ikran nearby, grabbed his presenile tail tightly, and tried to stay calm. "Hurry, Twilight. I need to get out of here before they will interrogate me in front of the whole clan." He whispers.

Self-Sacrifice vs Martyr

Neteyam. Spider. Son of a hero. Son of the genocide killer. Born in the same world. But have different meaningful of their heroism. Let's start with the "golden child" of the Sully family. Neteyam. The eldest son of the Sully parents. At first, I thought Neteyam is more like a background character 'cause the screen gets more focused on Lo'ak and Kiri. Then, I started to realize. Neteyam is giving hints of showing self-sacrifice in order to protect his siblings. Before the movie, there was a comic called "High ground", based on exactly a year ago, before they fled to the Eastern sea for Uturu. Neteyam was raised well...but he was forced to become Olo'ekytan at a young age. A child should have their own path and desires to become a great warrior. That is the first hint of sacrifice for his future. A future of becoming who is. Not was. Afterwards, he had dared to sneak into a space shuttle to join the suicide battle. Nevertheless, Neteyam did it again by protecting Lo'ak from the front line during the train assault attack. I'm not saying he is trying to be a good brother. He is trying to make Lo'ak understand this is not a game. Instead, he got hurt. Yet, Neteyam did again is not obey his father when they went to rescue his siblings. Unprepared. Inexperienced. And nearly got shot down by Recom. It wasn't bravery. It was overconfidence. It doesn't matter whose hero he felt was either Jake Sully or Tsu'tey. Sadly, Jake sees him as a child. Not adult to the law of the Omaticaya clan. That's how he died heroically to protect his siblings. Without knowing what kind of future that Neteyam would become.

Spider. He is the opposite of his parents; the "Antagonists". He has been through a hard life as an outcast, rejected by two species, and trying to prove that he is nothing like the "demons". At an exceptionally young age, Spider has always been aware of the dangers: the environment and the war. He has been listening to everyone's words. Obedience is one thing he depends on to survive. Sometimes, Spider has always reminded the Sully kids to be cautious when it comes to wars. Because war is not an adventure. In the high ground, he has risked his life to save the Sully kids from being captured by RDA and guide them through the tunnels. He doesn't need to choose a side. He chose Pandora. Straight up. End of the story. Then, he was captured by the Recoms. Spider is badly injured. Couldn't fight back. And knew he was outnumbered. Frankly, I was hoping he was capable enough to escape...but no, he is still stuck with them for nearly seven months. That I have understood why Spider is smart to be aware of how many RDA on the ship. If he had escaped earlier, he would have been killed. Fast forward to the "Fire and Ash", in the scene of the Eclipse, Sully's family members are fast asleep. Somehow, I felt like Spider wants to die peacefully in his sleep. Or trying to decrease the battery on the pack while they were heading to High Camp. It's like he felt like a burden. A burden should cease to exist. As the rest of the journey, Spider can breathe. But he is one thing that humans want. Jake decided to end his life for Eywa. For a few seconds, Spider has accepted his fate. Embrace Eywa. And the knife. Unlike Neteyam, he didn't drive into danger. He sees it as an opportunity.

After the three brothers' rock battle, Jake learned Spider had rescued his daughters and killed Quaritch while the ship was sinking to the bottom of the shallow waters. He wants to give the deepest gratitude to the boy. The Former Omaticaya Olo'ekytan have found Spider, sitting next to Aonung, Tsireya, and Roxto. He couldn't tell the young ones' faces full of pity and bafflement. "Spider! Oh, thank god, you're okay!" Jake gave a small wave for his bravery. For a moment, he had stopped. Up close, he has seen strange markings on his backside; It was covered in whip lashes, knife lacerations, acid burns, stab wounds, and even gunshots in limbs. Then, in the corner of his eyes, Jake sees an oxygen mask with an exo-pack lying next to him. "What are you doing?! Put your mask on--" He halted his tongue to see kuru hanging down his neck. Despite the short hair, Spider has slowly turned around to confront the man he once looked up to; Jake's blood has turned cold as ice. He sees the boy's appearance is ghastly. Spider has a long cut down his eye, cuts on the lips, and the worst of all is a huge laceration that exposes his teeth with flesh. The rest of the scars are everywhere he can see. Including the brand marking of "RDA". Not just torture scars. Spider has a new eye color, changed from soft chocolate eyes to crimson red. "Spider? What have they done--" He tries to speak softly. Yet, Spider violently stood up. "It's all your fault!" He shouts in plain English. "They wanted you! So, they punished me for you!" Spewing the accusations towards the man he once thought a father-figure. "Spider, I...I didn't know. I thought--" A loud scoff. "I have realized everything. I shouldn't exist. I shouldn't be with McChoskers. So was your family. I'm alone! That's a fact!" He shouts to the world. Ignore the sounds of Ikrans and the clashing small waves to the shore. "Spider, it's not true. We cared--" Jake wants to ease the tense conversation. "LOOK AT ME, YOU COWARD!" Spider gave a venomous shout. A silent sobbing choke in his throat. Jake can see his eyes glow up. Like Eywa gave him a chance to survive the poisonous air. But she couldn't heal his wounds. And understood one thing. Spider demands retribution. For failing him. From the beginning to now.
