Whats your headcanons for Arena Player? Because im curious

for future reference i use he/they for the player.

for one.. i like to imagine after the arena player initially went missing from the first and only time he existed outside of that loop in the real world, he was proclaimed a john doe.

specifically as John T. Doe, to play on the sound jaunt, in referencing to The Jaunt where the phrases "It's eternity in there." and "It's longer than you think." come from. both well referencing his situation of essentially eternity in a loop, one he doesn't have a destination to stop at.

john was also a humorously fitting name, a generic name, a name used for the missing, and also just acquiring a status of being a first name for things for some reason like john madness, john mantle etc.

as they've gone through more and more loops, they have a certain kind of disconnect with the origin they select upon starting a new one. in a sense to say that they would do something that directly opposes what their origin would do, not at all leaning into the pre made story behind them. that isn't them, they never lived before that point they could've never done that. they couldn't have been a scientist because their existence essentially only started now. in that infernal cot.

they may also get their origin mixed up, maybe talk like a magiturge while being a massive. talk about having an imaginary friend while being a tinkerer. it's all just a BLUR.

like for example as a disquieted, they may seem pretty distant but thats less of a result of not trusting people and more of having done this so many times they feel weird knowing so much about the people around them while theyre a stranger to them. they cant progress even friendly relationships normally.

i think.. that they still maintain that gruff demeanor but a bit more docile or quiet. they're not SHY but more emotionally closed off to cope with their situation.

i also hc that they're much more skilled than hank, given all the time they have, all the time in the world to mess up and experiment in various ways and if they ever were to break free from the loop into current nevada would have a stronger resolve than anyone else to be alive.

thats what i have for now..

if they broke of that loop but didnt realize it yet, they would hobble into the annex building and walk past bossman without so much as saying anything until somebody questioned where they had been for so long.

following would be the biggest display of emotion they would have had in who knows how long.

Now I'm really curious about how each of the arena cast feels about different origins.... And which they like more out of them all

Though ronin player/Dave is a really nice pair since... idk but they're neat together

i mean i have a general idea of preferences for some. i'd like to hear from others what they think on it but these are what i have right now.

* for skinner, it's not necessarily a preference but he is specifically specialized to aid in some way to that origin or aid in a way that isnt JUST preference.

magiturge origin in the idea of a dating sim is the last origin unlocked and because of how it's very different from other origins you have new options presented in every route.

one of these options is to take the one of your interest into the pocket dimension and to tell them in the best detail about the truth of your existence.

it's also .. the only way to access one specific route.
