More Matsuda angst I’m sorry :(

Seeing the one guy who tries to stay positive through it all completely break is so heartbreaking, but thank goodness he eventually starts to move on and be more like himself again like in the C-story.

Also note for the second drawing: He’s saying complete nonsense because of course it’s not his fault and there’s no way he could’ve stopped everything from going wrong, but it’s just another case of him speaking/acting out of emotion, wishing that everything could’ve worked out how he envisioned the case ending from the start.

Anyway this is the last angst post for awhile I have lots more fun doodles ahead 😅

Not enough people talk about how tragic Death Note is from Matsuda’s perspective. He was naive and got picked on countless times, but still risked his life over and over for the case(esp in the manga). And yet, practically everyone he looked up to ended up dying. And imo he saw Light as a brother considering Chief Yagami was like a father figure to him, so Light being Kira was especially hard on him. I could go on and on but you get the idea 😭
