Alayne Stone | Bastard in the Vale - Finished this just in time for the New Year. My first art contribution to ASOIAF and it had to be of Alayne Stone who is of course the beautiful Sansa Stark posing as Lord Petyr Baelishā bastard daughter in the Vale. I look forward to how this story will unfold in TWOW.Ā

Only thing getting me through today is the thought of Starred Egyptian Tomb Ceilings
Calming stars my beloved
I see your stars of Nefertari and I humbly add Senneferās grape vines
And all the patterns for the ceilings in Nebamun and Ipuky's tomb (TT181):
#these are absolutely beautiful #but were these tombs meant to be opened and seen #digitalized even #idk #:/
Most Egyptian tombs were not 'sealed'. This is because they functioned as religio-ancestral monuments meant for providing for the dead. Ancient Egyptians would frequently enter the tombs of friends and relatives to provide offerings for the Ba's of the dead. Tombs were social places, religious places, places of Heka, and places of Ancestor veneration. In larger tombs you find evidence of gatherings and even the drawings of children on the walls or even the mummies themselves. Tombs in Ancient Egypt were the fabric of everyday life, and by entering and continuing to speak the names of the deceased we continue to promote their ideas of living in the afterlife.
