omg just read it, first thank you so much for taking the time to write my idea! I don't wanna seem rude at all, and I have no idea if this going against some tumblr etiquette or smth so I'm really really sorry if it is and if it seems mean.

I just found Carmy so scary😭 almost made me me think of his mom and that's on me, like maybe in my ask it felt this way. What I meant was that he is very loving with his kid, he's genuinrly a very good father; it's angsty bc the kid feels that Carm is ashamed or want to hide her but it's not actually the case. He's just uncomfortable around his mom and how she would treat his kid bc he knows what she's like. Omg I'm sorry, I don't even know if it's okay to do that iddkk😭😭

OMG just read your fic with Carmy and it's so GOOD, I LOVED IT🏆. I think that his daughter was either adopted or an accidental pregnancy.

A/N : i'm not sure if this is 100 percent how headcanons work?? i realized later while writing that my writing is a bit different ahaha- anyways, enjoyyyy.

Carm, the silent, anxious-fucking anger generating overthinker would :

Always- and somehow-get calmer whenever you're in the kitchen, at the bear.

The staff would tease him about it-oh sorry- not tease him, tease YOU and you'd have to endure the side-eyes, silent conversatio between staff members and the whispers about how "different Carm is"

But Silent Carm isn't the only Carm you knew

In fact, another Cam came to be whenever a slight misunderstanding happened, like the ones where Donna puts him to the test.

When she calls

Or just sends a text

Even when she simply sends her regards through your aunt, Sugar.

Or simply when her name is merely articulated.

Carm's eyes then do the thing…the thing where they flicker, where he closes them and opens them violently before inhaling sharply. And then somebody asks him something,

Carm then starts fidgeting, and later begins to end the conversation with a shout of the worst thing he could ever say.

He'd then do the blinking thing again, breathe some more. And then he leaves.

As for Carm and others, things were quite different.

Carm never wanted you to go anywhere around Donna.

He wouldn't want you to call her that, he'd keep reminding you NOT to call her "Donna"

"She is your grandmother"

"Oh yeah? Then why can't i be anywhere around her?"

"Because i said so. Fucking leave it now."

His eyelids would start quivering whenever her name popped up on the phone, he'd keep distantly staring at the phone, his thumb hovering over the green bubble but he wouldn't answer.

He'd just stare at it.

He even once went as far as tossing your phone onto the ground when he found out that you were talking to her. His fingers had found his lips, which he squeezed really violently before sighing.

"I warned you." His voice might've been small but the shaking in his tone emitted a whole different vibe.

You had gone quiet at that moment, and breathing had suddenly become really hard

That moment has long passed.

But has it really?

Carm really wasn't the perfect dad he seemed to be to everyone.

Everyone always hinted to you about how you made him this really different man, how you had changed him for the better. How lovely he came to be when you were present in the same place.

You'd nod and smile. But to you, that was never true.

Carm wasn't as…present as he seemed to be.

He was physically present, yes.

He was there whenever you needed him. He tried so hard to be there.

He put your school meetings before the restaurant. He'd leave mid-shift for you.

He was there when you got your periods at school. He came running, clothes in hand, took you home and comforted you.

He was there when you got really sick and couldn't even lift your head off the pillow. He made you soup, the good one. Not the disgusting soups he makes.

But he was never...there there.

He's ask you again about things that were said in front of him.

"dad-" The words would come out so bitter. And you mostly didn't care.

You wanted him to hurt.

"You were there." You'd stress the "there" and cross your arms over your chest.

"I know-i'm sorry-i forgot." He'd say and you'd turn your head to the other side.

You'd hug him sometimes…and he would just…wrap his arm around you.

It always felt to you like he just wanted to fill the void with whatever he could…just so you wouldn't know. Just so you wouldn't realize he wasn't there.

Carm was never as "calm" around you as they made him to be.

"Are you dumb?"

Carm once asked you-barked at you when you had confronted him about how he never let you be around his mom.

His head shook as he leaned forward.

And you had leaned back in fear.

Who...Who even are you?

You jerked away, gasping in utter disbelief.

You had never thought your father would speak to you that way, the father who hugged and kissed you good night, the one that called you whenever panic crept into his chest.

The one who relied so much on you.

"I-m sorry- I-How many times did i telll you not to talk to me about Donna?" He had almost launched at you and you jumped from the seat.

Carm got up too, jabbing his fingers into his temples.

"I'm so-"

"Get your fucking shit together- either tell me things or don't-"

You crossed your arms over your chest, tightening your grip around your body, an attempt to hold back the tears that pooled in your eyes. "You tell me to call her grandma, but you won't let me talk to her- that makes no fucking sense, dad, that makes you sound c-"

You stopped yourself.

Crazy just like your mother, is what you had in mind..4 words that would change the dynamic of your relationship forever.

Something that wasn't worth the pain.

"Good night" You muttered instead, turning on your heels and shutting your bedroom door so hard the walls shook.

Your and Carm had not spoken about that fight ever since then- Of course you wouldn't. That was Carm, emotionally distant, angry and anxious.

But you loved him-Relunctantly- you loved him.

Thank you so much time for putting time on the texts, personal chef made me cackle, he kinda is lol.

For the angst I was thinking that it could be about Donna, like Carm limiting the time they spend together or hide her existence from his mom until he can't. He wants to protect her and he's uncomfortable with his mom taking more space in his life but his kid sees it as rejection or shame.

Or she's mad at him because when Carm is struggling with grief, trauma, he withdraw and pours everything into work. I think he doesn't want to be like his mother and lash out, dumping all of his repressed emotions on his daughter so he take some distance in order to protect her, he doesn't want to hurt her like he was.

He doesn't neglect her physical needs, still show up to teacher meeting, cook, sign stuff but emotionally? He's not really there. And she's annoyed that his presence is inconsistent, that he's there and then he's not. He's trying to break the cycle but not in the right way.

Maybe they have an argument and he decides to sit her down and explains everything, his childhood, and the way he act.

Sorry this is really long, I've had dad!carmy headcanons in my mind for so long lol I need to rant😂

"Dad- dad-you're doing it again"

You peer at your father as his eyes fixate on the wall, completely elsewhere.

He does that from time to time. He dissapears into his thoughts, becoming absolutely unaware of the outside world.

It scares you.

After the incident at the restaurant, you had decided you'd never let him get away with him, so you dug your finger into his arm.

"D-"

"What?" Your father jerks, an almost imperceptible move that you'd only notice if you hadn't known the man your whole life. "Doing what- i'm not fucking doing anyth-I"

Your shoulders slump at his perpetual denial.

"Yes you did." You manage to say before he grips your arm and swiftly pulls you down, causing you to fall over his body.

"Come here." Your father wraps his arms around you, fingers interlacing to block you in place.

"Daaad-stop" You whine before a fit of laughter breaks through and you find yourself struggling to breathe.

"I'm doing it again, huh?" He jests, digging the fingers on his right hand into your waist while his left hand holds you down.

"Ddddd" Small exhales slip out of you. "Sstopp" You push away from him, finally freeing yourself as he gently lets go of you.

With your hands at your sides, you shift a little to take a seat beside him, bringing a pillow to your chest.

"How was your day, babe?" Carm asks you, shifting his own body to lean on his side, his arm sliding along the back of the couch.

"It was...okay." You simply say, bringing your hands close to your face before you unconsciously start digging your nail under another one, a move that Carmy reads wrong.

"Hey-how was it-really?" Unsatisfied by your answer, your father leans closer to you.

"I swear-" You nod at him. "I promise you- it was fine." A reassuring smile tugs at your lips. And your eyes meet your father's.

His eyebrows are slightly furrowed. He's still unsatisfied. "Dad-i promise-I'm just a little bit tired."

Carm studies you for another moment, staring into your soul some more before he blinks, a slow nod indicating that he'll soon move on to the next question.

"I missed you today." He mutters, his voice a lot smaller, more honest, raw.

A side of Carmy that not many people got to witness.

Carmy never expressed his feeling-not easily,at least- not to your mom, or Claire, or your grandmother.

"I missed you too." You lean back into his hand, the one sits behind your head. "we haven't spoken at all si-"

"Why didn't you answer my text earlier- you could've just-"

Your head recoils. "When? What text?" You lift your head back up and spin it toward him, eyes widening when he cocks his head slightly.

"The text i sent you about 5 hours ago, y/n." His voice takes on a neutral, almost hurtful tone. "The one you saw, and didn't answer-"

"I didn't ign-"

"Well-you didn't answer me either."

You quiet for a moment, glaring at him, eyes still fixed on him as you pull your phone from under you.

A few clicks later and your conversation pops on the screen, causing a small gasp to escape your throat.

You suck your lips in, blurting out a "I'm such a dumbass" as you glue your phone to your chest.

He stares at you. He doesn't like that kind of talk-

"Don't say that." Your father's fingers gently trail over your cheek.

He never really liked it when you insulted yourself, even though he was the one you got the habit from.

You pull the pillow back to your chest. " I have to go to sleep."

"Already?" Carmy's tone is higher now, softer

Not that tone, dad..

You don't want to leave him-you don't. But you can't help your eyelids feeling heavier and harder to open.

Though your mind is still very much awake, your body had exceeded its capacities. It needed sleep.

It was done.

Your eyes meet his. He falters.

"I'm exhausted." You lean your head back against the top of the couch.

You hesitate. "You are too, dad."

Carmy's gaze quickly drops to your thighs. He hates it when you tell him that. He lets out a quick cold exhale.

Fuck...

Telling him that doesn't help him sleep, it just reminds him of the facts.

He really hated that.

You got into a fight once where he yelled at you and you yelled at him back-nothing exaggerative, just the truth- halting him to a stop.

And at that moment, when he went quiet, your heart sunk, your eyes went blurry and you started blurting out apologies. You'd tried to grab his wrist, to force his hand into yours, to look you in the eyes and see how sorry you were.

Nothing worked- he just came back a few hours later and pretended like nothing had happened.

And though the tension was long gone, it left something behind in both of you. The worst parts of Carmy Berzatto were the quiet ones.

The more silent he was, the worse he felt.

"I'm sorr-"

"It's-it's okay, baby- I know."

"No-i just- i didn-"

"Hey." His fingers found their way underneath your chin again. "It's okay, don't worrry about it."

You sighed, eyes faltering before sucking in a fresher breath. You shifted to the edge of the couch.

"Good night, dad" You brought your arm out and he quickly held your hand, guiding you around the couch, not letting go.

"Good night, baby."

I hadn't thought of Mycroft that way-until i read about it in an interview with the editors of the show, Who explained how How mycroft was always competing with Sherlock

And it shocked me that i hadnt thought of it that way- because my brain was submerged in the "Mycroft saves Sherlock-Mycroft helps Sherlcok" that i hadn't thought about how Mycroft would feel absolutely left out.

Anywyas- Mycroft wasn't shown enough on the show and Max Irons was ffking A M A Z I N G

Beatrice's palm slammed against the table.

Mycroft jolted.

"STOP ARGUING"

You jerked.

You had been sat beside Sherlock and -tragically- your father. You didn't look at Sherlock but you could hear the shaky exhale that left his nose, an exhale that strangely carried sentiments of anger.

You didn't look at Beatrice either.

You actually couldn't. She didn't...she didn't look like Beatrice.

She looked different. Her eyes held a great void behind them, they told nothing about her, nothing about you.

She looked like she lacked remorse, guilt, even thought.

Actually...Her eyes, they did tell something, she looked like a woman- a powerful one, a cold blooded killer, one that was ready to rule the world, unafraid of the evil that is sitting across from her.

That wasn't your Beatrice.

Back at the chamber you shared with Sherlock, James and Mycroft, you stood by the window, your back to them, desperately hoping the beauty of stars would relieve you from the pain that had lodged in your stomach.

You bit on your lower lip as flashes from the past hour fogged up your brain, you still couldn't process anything-not the betrayal of your father, not the idea that your sister was still alive-though you did, sometimes, fantasize about that one-not her total dissmissal of what both of you shared.

You were bounded by pain, anger, fear and love. Whatever hurt you, hurt her and vice versa.

How could she not feel this? How could she not feel your heart tearing from the inside out?

I felt it. You say to yourself. You felt your heart aching, you felt your pulse bounding, your stomach churning-how could she not feel any of those things?

You shook your head, an attempt to shake the thoughts away. "Couldn't even respect me enough to place me in a seperate room." The words slipped out of your lips, through gritted teeth.

A hand landed softly on your shoulder, squeezing it gently to guide you around.

"I find it rather reassuring to be here with you tonight, sister." The lightness of his voice indicated a joke was about to be layed down. "I fear the smell of men's feet is not so accomodating for my sensitive n-"

A faint inhale replaced words when Sherlock's eyes landed on your lips, and a flicker of worry flashed through his eyes before he batted it away.

"My darling...Your lip...it's bleeding."

Before his fingers reach your cheek, you lean back, catching his hand and lowering it to his side.

You needed not to break. And any kind of affection would do you just that.

Sherlock sighed as he leaned closer to your face. "It's...alright n/n, she-"

"Alright?" You barked, cutting him off. "What's alright about any of this?" The words came out louder than you had intended, causing Sherlock to wince, tilting his head to the side, zoning out.

"Huh?" You insisted. "What is-"

"Y/n, watch your tone."

Your head spun to the side, to Mycroft. "It is not Sherlock who hurt you- you needn't to speak to him that way."

Your eyes falter at the softness shadowing his pain. He wasn't angry, he was just reminding you..

Mycroft had always had a softer spot for Sherlock, had always been protective of him, always. Just as Bea was protective of you.

She was always the more daring one, the shameless, bold little girl that you could never be. Your father alwyas prefered her over you. The truth had always been there, you just were too damn little and stupid to realize it.

And without warning, a sob tears out of your throat. "I'm sorry." You mumbled between the ugly, shaky breaths.

Sherlock was only a step away, so you leaned into him. You leaned into his chest, pressed your cheek against his chest as your hands gripped the sides of his pants. You held onto him, tight. He's always understood you.

"I just... After all that i've gone through, all the questions, the guilt, the years slipping by like a fallen star."

This, though, he could never understand.

You stepped away, turned to Mycroft and inhaled. "unperceivable, Mycroft, resumable in a matter of seconds. All those years wasted."

Mycroft's eyelids momentarily sank before he brought his fingers to the bridge of his nose. "I know..." He walked over to you, stood before you. "I know...I..." He hesitated. "I-frankly, I believe we will get her back."

You smack your lips as another sob escapes your throat. "You don't understand." Your hand smacks your thigh. "It's not..it's not even that- i thought she'd trust, she'd feel it."

Mycroft's features mirrored yours. His eyes glistened and his lips curled downward in disgust.

"Today i find out that i actually lost a sister who...who turns out to be..still alive;"

Somehow- saying it out loud cleared the fog.

You didn't just realize it. You accepted it. You made peace wit-

"No"

Behind you, Sherlock's voice sounded, a small but confident tone that held both gentleness and conviction. You were standing with your back facing him so he wouldn't shout in your ears. But he was-somehow-utterly confident of what he was going to say.

I don't want to hear it..

Before you get to argue-because- of course you knew what he had to say- His hand gripped your shoulder and turned your body around, gripping your other shoulder before you got to pull away.

His eyes bore into yours. His big eyes, red-rimmed, fearful and yet confident. He didn't blink, he didn't falter.

"We will get her back."

Sherlock nodded at you, reassuring you. And you inhaled the last bit of fighting you had in you.

You didn't believe him but you blinked the tears away, anyway. You brought your hand up to your own shoulder, resting your hand on top of his own.

Your brother tightened his grip in repsonse, a sort of unspoken encouragement. He couldn't let you go, yet. But he needed you to know that he was there.

"I promise you. we'll get her back"

Hero FEELS like a baby. He truly looked the part, the sadness, the zoning out, the irritation, everything.

And Dònal actually looks like HE turned evil, like it wasn't just Moriarty who flipped the switch (I didn't want to say "got his switch flipped" because that would've sounded bad)

I HATE MORIARTY

I reeeally hate Moriarty because the friendship, at first, really hit the spot for me. I loved him so much- I loved the fast-growing relationship between him and Sherlock- i loved how almost clingy Moriarty was to Sherlock. Even when they fought, he still wouldn't leave. Fukking cohort

I can't even describe him as the right hand- he WAS the lead in Sherlock's shadow.

It felt like he has been adopted by Sherlock and accepted by a family that didn't need an adoptee, yet there he was, everywhere, anywhere they went.
