M!A Baby Bump
Things moved fast after that. Teague was prepped. They gave him an epidural, and locals, and put up a curtain between his head and belly so the surgery wouldn’t frighten him. They cleaned his belly, and swabbed it with the brown anti-germ solution. They prepped Elliot as well, putting him in a blue surgical gown, covering his hair, and giving him a mask.
The procedure took a couple of hours, but apparently went off without a hitch. The pup was pulled out, wiped down, and had his lungs cleared. He needed to go to the ICU for an incubator, but they did put him in his Oma’s arms before they whisked him away. He was a little thing. Teague cried with relief that all things considered the baby was ok.
They finished up, and closed Teague up, gave him a sedative, and sent him to recovery. Elliot was informed that now Teague could rest, and he could come see the baby in a few hours.
Seeing the small, still, rather blue looking pup pulled from the wound in Teague's round belly was something Elliot in that instant knew he could have gone his whole life without seeing. It made his skin crawl, and the little hairs on the nape of his neck had prickled up into standing as a nervous growl rumbled in his chest. It wasn't natural. Pups were not supposed to be brought into the world this way.
But Teague's hand had tightened around his own, and Elliot instantly remembered that this was not about him. It was about the pale, anxious face on the other side of the blue curtain staring up at him with wide eyes, begging silently for assurance. Assure he did, brushing back sweat dampened curls from Teague's forehead and supporting his shaking arms as he was allowed to hold his baby for scant seconds before pup was hurried away in a flurry of scrubs, and omega was given the last of his stitches before moving to recovery.
Elliot trailed after the gurney, tapping out another quick text to Connor. Teague and the pup were out of the woods, but Elliot wasn't going to leave until the omega's real mate was there with Teague in his arms. Coffee in hand, and a pile of horrible celeb gossip magazines in his lap, Elliot settled into the bedside chair and began the wait as Teague slept off the ordeal.
