Making of a 5pc Bespoke Set - Handmade by Elma

I was commissioned to do a five piece set for a Christmas gift for one lucky lady. The request was for a nightie, bralette, garter, and panty, plus one more bralette for everyday use. The requested color was a turquoise or ice blue, something to compliment her lightly tanned skin. 

Lace - U.S. made ice blue lace with gold cording, delicate eyelash lace from China that was custom hand dyed in San Francisco. 

Silk - Stretch silk from NY

Trimmings - Dyed to match satin elastics and ribbons.

The Making of a Bespoke Set - Handmade by Elma

Materials:

1 meter Alençon Lace (Made in France)

11 yrds Satin Plush Back Elastic

25 Rings,  34 Sliders

0.33 yrds Stretch Silk Satin 

12 Clear Garter Grips

1 yrd Double Faced Satin Ribbon

1.5 yrd Plush Elastic

1 yrd Scallop Edge Elastic

This bespoke project started with the idea for a red garter belt but once we found this gorgeous Alençon lace it turned into a full 3-piece set to showcase the beauty of this material. To give it a luxurious touch each panel of lace was lined with silk, each strap is adjustable, and gold hardware is used throughout. 

Over the course of 8 weeks I worked closely with the client to adapt the design to her desired specs. The bra and garter evolved through multiple iterations as we added straps, removed bulk, changed proportions here and there until everything worked harmoniously. 

This set cannot be duplicated due the the limited supply of fabric.
