I've decided to just go for it and ignore the publishing schedule I came up with in my head for SFTW, because at this point ten years are gonna pass before I finish After Hours and publish the next installment.
As a result, I've begun posting When the World Goes Quiet, a horror-romance and the second installment of Sympathy for the Wicked. It follows Chloe, a traumatised young woman who comes to the reasonable conclusion that she's gone insane when a voice shows up at her window and asks to be let inside her house—but when she looks in the mirror to see what's outside, there's nobody there.
Here's the cover art, which I'm still not happy with because I hate drawing men. I don't know what it was, but no matter how I drew the ML, he still looks weird, so I just gave up and let him look like this.
Also, fun fact—I had completed this art and saved it and all that. It was completely ready to go, but I took one final look at it just to be safe... and his hand was upside down.
Look!
(I also changed his hair because it sucked so badly omg)
Here's a link to the story on Wattpad. I haven't posted on Royal Road or Inkitt yet because I'm lazy, but I'll get around to it eventually.

Oh and here's the synopsis because that's probably an important thing to include.
Chloe's life of solitude is interrupted by a knock on her window. A man's voice, begging for reply-to be let inside. She's half convinced she's gone insane, but that's alright. The way Chloe sees it, as long as she doesn't invite her mysterious night-time visitor inside, everything will be fine. All she's gotta do is ignore it. Piece cake, right?
+ Um... hello. Wow, this is weird. I was never much of a babysitter. Nice to meet you, I guess. Probably could've been under better circumstances. Or worse. Definitely worse. They told me you need stories? I can't say I get it, but then the whole magic thing was confusing even before the world ended. I guess my most interesting story is pretty obvious... not that you know it, of course. Not that you know much of anything... wow, this is fucking morbid. Okay, well, I've never told anyone this story before. Not in its entirety. Never really wanted to. I mean, to begin with, it's freaking weird, right? Like, unbelievable. Well, it was unbelievable. Now, it's like, not even a seven on the 'crazy-things-that-have-happened' scale. Maybe that's why I'm here. To ease you into it all. Tell you about the scary and normal vampires before you move onto, I don't know, God. Oh, fuck, I'm rambling, aren't I? Sorry, it's just... this is really uncomfortable. Sitting in a room and talking about the worst things that have ever happened to me to a fucking vegetable. Well, it wasn't all bad, I guess. It was worth it, even. I definitely wouldn't have said that back then, obviously. I mean, I was fucking terrified back then. But I was also terrified of my fucking shadow, so how's that any different than usual? Okay, story... story... I'm just gonna get straight into it. You don't need to know about the... before. All you really need to know is that I moved into my granddad's old cottage, and one day, out of nowhere, I started hearing voices. One voice. His voice.
