âWell I mean I do remember a few but theyâre not nice⊠at least I donât think. Of course not, who would want to get hurt?â
âOh, then itâs better that you donât remember them. No one, Iâd hope.â

âWell I mean I do remember a few but theyâre not nice⊠at least I donât think. Of course not, who would want to get hurt?â
âOh, then itâs better that you donât remember them. No one, Iâd hope.â
âYeah⊠I donât know, I donât really remember them. You probably would have and that wouldnât be good.â
âEver? No, I know I wouldnât have liked it.â
âI donât know⊠other things. It is interesting. Could you imagine having a scary dream and then waking up in the bath?â
âOther things? I donât think that would be very good at all... Iâd probably have hurt myself.â
âThatâs happened to me a lot. Well not the dreaming of mermaids but the dreaming about your surroundings. At least you had a nice dream.â
âYou donât dream of mermaids? Then what do you dream about? Itâs interesting how it happens... It was nice, thankfully. I would have been very disorientated waking up in the bath otherwise.â
âI had a dream that I was a mermaid, swimming with the fish and the ocean was really beautiful, well, it probably is anyway... it was just really nice and seemed so comfortable in my dream. And I ended up waking up in the bath. I must have been too tired getting in there, and it was relaxing but -- donât you think itâs strange how dreams can sometimes reflect your surroundings?â
For Samantha, being a lone wolf wasnât so bad. Â She didnât need others to help her survive, nor did she care to deal with the inner politics of a pack. Â No, it was better to just keep on her own, live her life as best she could, and keep out of all the conflict that seemed to have started opening up around her. Â She preferred her wolf form anyway, kept her from the obligations of life as a full human.
Perhaps it hadnât been the best idea to go wandering through the woods -- no, it was an awful idea. However, Elodie liked the outdoors, she liked the woods and she thought she was capable of taking care of herself. Of course, the moment her blue eyes caught sight of a large wolf, she began to question that. Sheâd been in the woods many times before and not once had she run into a wolf, and Elodie was mostly certain this wasnât just any wolf, either. Elodie stiffened in its presence.Â
âI donât mean toâŠwhatâs her name?â
âHer nameâs Misty.â She picked up the cat, stroking her head lightly. âSheâs been a little jumpy lately.â
âIm glad to know someone who agrees with meâ he said, smiling at her. âLet me get us the drinksâ he said before he got up and moved over to grab some drinks and paid for them before he walked back over to his table where his new friend sat.
âOf course, I want this to stop the bloodshed, not increase it.â It probably seemed stupid. She knew the spell was necessary and she knew the pros and cons, sheâd just hoped the pros outweighed the cons. She nodded as he mentioned going to get the drinks and offered a smile when he come back. âThank you.â
âWhat you want it to be doesnât matter because it already turned in to that. Your kind made an alliance with the hunters, did you think they would just sit back and let us run around. You practically gave them a two for one deal. This is not going to stop if anything itâs only going to lead to more bloodshed. If we donât fight back weâre sitting ducks⊠we will fight and we will find a way around this.â
âItâs a solution to the bloodshed, maybe the only one; itâs something that should stop fighting between you, and also stop innocent lives being taken. Youâve already found a way around it if youâre not hurting people. Then there shouldnât be anything to worry about. Our spell is solid and no one but us could find a way around it.â
âStop the bloodshed? Are you really that naive? This is genocide. You are killing two species in one swift move. We wonât stand for it, you do know that right? Perhaps.â
âI know thatâs what people want it to be. Thatâs not what I wanted it to be. If you just didnât do anything bad, youâd all be fine. No one would touch you if you stopped -- and you wonât touch each other.â
âReally? Because this little spell that you and your kind have decided to put on us proves otherwise. Of course she wouldnât. She would be scared of a dog.â
âItâs supposed to stop the bloodshed -- it stops you from hurting each other. Maybe, she might just dislike them.â
âNo honey thatâs on you. Youâre scared of us and so she takes after you. You should have gotten a dog.âÂ
âIâm not afraid of you. Iâm happy with Misty, and I donât think she would appreciate a dog.â

He looked up at who it was he had spoken to and gave her a soft smile âI am pretty sure. People areâŠviolent in mind.â he sighed but he nodded âSure I wouldnât mind a drink. As long as its more soda then alcohol.â
âIt seems pointless to me... Killing when itâs not needed.â She shrugged, but offered a smile. âI can arrange that.â
âAnd here I was thinking that cats are intelligent. Iâm not really into snacking on cats, not the small ones anyway. The wannabe wolves are the those she should be running from.â
âSheâs very intelligent; she knows when to be weary of people. Oh, well thereâs nothing for her to worry about then. I havenât heard of them eating cats.â
âNot my fault that your little kitty cat is scared of me.
âNo, but itâs your fault youâre scaring her.â
âNo I dont want to go and kill. I wanna let the witches spell to work a little longer and see if it will make things easier around here. Unnecessary deaths arenât okayâ
âI wasnât going to ask you to kill anyone. Our spell is doing fine... I was just coming to see if you wanted a drink. Do people really want to go out and kill so bad?"
