She shook her head, taking his palm and pressing a soft kiss to it. “In short, you’ve avoided my main question of the ‘what’ and ‘why’…” Emily made eye contact with him. “You did something that resulted in having your magic taken… What did you do?” She pressed.
“I wasn’t in my right mind, you need to understand that. Asgardians have been at war with a race called the Jotun for centuries and when I learned that I was one of them – their enemy – it did something to me. Suddenly everything wrong in my life made perfect sense and I lost myself to anger and envy brought on by pain.” He saw no version of the truth he could tell her that didn’t end in her hating him.
“I was made regent upon my father, Odin’s, fall into the Odin sleep. A state I pushed him into. I sent the Destroyer to Earth and I killed him. But it was the push he needed and the act played into his revival and his power as Thor was restored. Odin awakened and ….I am here now.”
She watched him carefully as he spoke, noting the twist of his lips as he said the word Jotun. "You're not Asgardian by birth, that seems normal enough, but then again I'm not of your culture there... Who are they? Why are they fighting with Asgard?" She didn't understand.
"Are you afraid of how I'd see you? Or that I'd be afraid of you?" Emily wanted to understand him. Only when she knew everything could she decide for herself where to go from there.
