❝ There’s nothing worse than knowing you want a new tattoo, but having no clue what you want. I’m seriously considering a survey or something, ❞ Rita held out her forearm, pointing to the blank space in her sleeve, ❝ I mean, what am I supposed to put here? ❞
Elsa looked at the place she pointed to, considering the options for a moment. “What about a bird? Or something geometric? Or an anatomical heart.” She paused after the last suggestion, before adding, “... Maybe not that last one, I’m a doctor and I get carried away.”
aaronshaw:
“I’m curious to know what that means. There’s so many stubborn people in this world, sometimes I wonder how the world even functions.” He nodded. “The world’s better when you give what you can.”
“If you can figure it out, you’ll be doing better than me,” she smiled. If she knew, things would be so much easier. “If everyone followed that mantra, the world would be a simpler place.”

Anna: But coffee is so bitter! I will never understand how people can drink it!
Anna: I miss you too
Anna: ...ok whatever you need
Anna: You can have coffee, I'll have hot chocolate :)
Anna: so.. just to make sure we're making plans to see each other again right?
Anna: in the near future, not like months from now where we've forgotten what each other looks like
Anna: and then we'd have to make some code of like wearing flowers in our hair or both having braids to know who's who
Anna: this plan is like within the next couple of weeks...right?
Elsa: It's an acquired taste; you acquire it when you're close to falling asleep in public
Elsa: Sounds like a plan :)
Elsa: Yes we are... unless you'd prefer to make a game out of recognizing each other?
TEXT ✉: Anna ⇄ Elsa
Anna: I can't imagine what that's like. You must've been exhausted by the end of the day!
Anna: I know it's not a small injury. But it's not exactly great not having you in my life.
Anna: Like, actually in my life. Not like this, texting isn't a relationship.
Anna: I mean, of course if we were to meet again, I'd do things differently. Like not pushing you so hard or demanding you let me be in your life more.
Anna: BUT at the end of the day, I don't regret going to see you.
Elsa: Somewhat, but that's what coffee's for
Elsa: You're right, it's not a relationship... and I miss you
Elsa: Give me a few weeks.
Elsa: I mean, maybe it'll only take a week or so, and I don't want to hurt you again, but maybe we could get coffee? Or tea, if you'd prefer.
Elsa: Or chocolate
aaronshaw:
“Difficult.. In what way is that?” He asked, still curious. “This plan is going to make me broke. But hey, at least I can live on knowing that I repatched their friendship.”
“We’re hard to place a finger on, and I would say we’re stubborn but it’s more than that... so, we’re difficult,” Elsa shrugged. “Exactly, that’s the fun part of giving.” Her tone was sarcastic, though the slight smile indicated that she was joking.
aaronshaw:
“Thanks. So I’ve heard.. Would you say Elsa’s are feisty?” He raised an eyebrow, speaking in a teasing tone. “Food? Actually, that’s a great idea. Maybe I can make them gift baskets or something. Mediation might work too.”
“I would say Elsas are... difficult,” she replied with a light laugh. “Gift baskets and meditation just might do the trick. You might want to throw in brunch too, just for good measure.”
TEXT ✉: Anna ⇄ Elsa
Anna: ...Sure.
Anna: That couldn't have been bad, did you figure it out?
Anna: I'm fine, I've been working mostly.
Anna: Elsa, I'm fine. It took a couple of days, but I'm fine.
Anna: I don't regret coming to talk to you.
Elsa: I hopped from emergency room to emergency room, but everyone got their metal knee so I guess it all worked out
Elsa: That's good, work is good.
Elsa: You don't? But... I hurt you. Your recovery took days, that's not a small injury.
aaronshaw:
He faked a look of shock-horror. “I knew it.. I have to think of a way to get them back together. This is going to be my goal for this year.”
“I wish you well, I hear the Rachels are feisty,” she shrugged, taking a sip from her coffee. “Though that goal might become a little more attainable if you approach them with food. People tend to be more willing to listen to you when you’re bearing gifts.”
aaronshaw:
“I suppose it is.” he nodded. “I can’t even imagine. If I was next to them, I’d definitely have to give one of them a nickname or both. Maybe they’d fight over who got called what.”
“Sounds like you would be the reason they’d split up. Four years of friendship down the drain.”
thehuginhugo:
❝ But rolly chairs are fun! Maybe me falling over occasionally is the price we have to pay for the freedom to wheel across rooms. ❞
“If you insist,” she assented, “I don’t think I’ve ever rolled farther than a few inches, but the six year olds I always seem to be stopping from racing down the hallways do seem to have fun on them. And you too, I suppose.”

aaronshaw:
“That it does. I can’t believe you managed to come up with a name for it.” He laughed. “I guess that’s one easy way to pick a roommate. I suppose you’d just always end up blaming the other person.”
“Thinking quick on my feet is part of the job description,” she smiled. “Exactly, Rachel D was constantly getting accused for Rachel F's mistakes. That’s the trouble with only learning first names with same-name roommates.”
thehuginhugo:
Hugo laughed, more comfortable now that she seemed to be satisfied with her once over. ❝ Yeah, right?! It’s so rude of them, honestly, they’re getting in the way of my productive work days. You might be seeing a lot less of me soon, the chairs are gonna get me fired. ❞
“You could always stay late one night and just super glue all the chairs to the floor? Maintenance might not be too happy but at least you could hold on to your job for another three hours... or however long it takes to comb through security footage.”
TEXT ✉: Anna ⇄ Elsa
Anna [unsent text]: I'm sorry I pushed you. This isn't your fault.
Anna: Hi, I figured I better text you rather than show up at your house again. I hope you're okay, I'm okay.
Anna: So...how are you?
Elsa: Hi, this is a better idea
Elsa (unsent): Sorry that this is the only way
Elsa: I'm fine, busy... as usual, I guess. I accidentally scheduled three knee replacements for today so that was... interesting.
Elsa: How are you?
Elsa: ... are you... okay after what happened?
aaronshaw:
“True. You shouldn’t live up to anyone. But still, now you get to set the standards.” He shook his head. “Nah, I don’t really like the idea of people sharing my name either. I’ve meet other Aaron’s before and it’s weird, it’s like the stole my name.. even if they’re older then me.”
“It sounds weird,” Elsa agreed. “Premature name theft. I knew someone in college who actually picked her roommate because they shared a name and she was always confusing people with it.”
aaronshaw:
“You do have an under appreciated name. You’re the first I’ve met of it’s kind. Maybe you’re going to led generations of Elsa’s. That’s pretty cool. Were you named after anything?”
“Not that I’m aware of, but I almost think it’s better that way. I don’t have to live up to anything,” she smiled slightly. Honestly, her own expectations for herself were probably greater than any someone else could hold her to. “What about you? Any Great Uncle Aarons?”
