         ⎩ ! ⎭ ` ——— WHEN SAN LOSES HIS friends in a crowd , he usually just sits in a corner and waits for one of them come get him . today was different , and he blamed it on the alcohol he had already drank a little too much of tonight . he really did not want to have another episode where he would get aggressive and then throw up , because he could never remember what he would say in those moments , only the emotion that would fill his chest and brain so deeply that he was left with no choice but to reap it in the morning . he was wandering with this feeling growing , people dancing and couples doing … what the fuck ever … but san wanted an escape . sadly , as he is looking for one , his state gets the best of him and he feels himself run into someone’s side … and when he looks up he feels sick to his stomach yet happy at the same time , but the face that it turns out to be is not who he thought . still , san can’t complain . ❝ sorry … ❞ he mumbles briefly , his eyes panning from his broken glass and spilled drink on the floor to the man standing above him . ❝ can you … help me get another one or something ? ❞

           elton  tries  his  best  to  avoid  parties     ---     much  more  accustomed  to  late  nights  spent  in  bookstores  than  he  is  to  partying  into  the  early  hours  of  the  morning     /     he’s  a  rare  figure,  an  unaccompanied  spectre  in  the  way  he  glides,  aimless,  around  the  dancefloor.  whiskey  laces  itself  into  bloodstream  and  knocks  him  off  balance     ;     more  drinks  than  he  dares  to  admit  have  scorched  the  back  of  his  throat  but  it’s  worth  it.  he’s  considering  heading  back  to  the  bar  for  another  drink     (     god  knows  he  doesn’t  need  it,  but  needs  have  a  tendency  to  lose  out  to  wants  when  his  head  is  already  buzzing  and  there’s  a  comfortable  recklessness  settling  into  the  marrow  of  delicate  bones  and  into  the  base  of  an  insatiable  gut     )     ;     slow,  unsteady  paces  have  begun  to  lead  him  forth  when  the  force  of  the  other’s  frame  barrels  into  him,  but  he  can’t  bring  himself  to  be  anything  more  than  bemused.     “     jesus,  mate,  good  one.     ”     hint  of  laughter  resonates  in  tone  whilst  he  offers  forth  a  hand.     “     i  was  goin’  back  to  the  bar,  anyways.  let’s  get  y’  a  drink  y’won’t  spill,  hm     ?     ”

chloe knew exactly what to expect at this party, but still, she’d found herself feeling somewhat out of place and uncomfortable. she’d long since lost track of chris and after a few short bouts of pleasantries with people she’d met once or twice, she was elated to spot a familiar face she hadn’t been expecting. “i’d almost always rather be in bed, to be honest,” the blonde said with a playful shrug. “i’m gonna be honest, i haven’t had nearly enough to have much fun yet.” it wasn’t in her style to overindulge on alcohol, but she had a sneaking suspicion that in order to truly let loose on this particular evening, that was exactly what she’d need to do.

       “     bed’s  the  best  place  to  be,  i’m  tellin’  ya’.     ”     statement  is  affirmed  with  gentle  nod  and  lazy  grin  that’s  almost  softened  at  the  corners.  he  won’t  ADMIT  to  soft  spot  for  the  other,  but  it’s  there  in  the  way  that  he  smiles     ;     gentle,  like  it’s  a  secret  made  for  the  two  of  them  alone,  like  it’s  something  only  they  know.  hues  widen  as  she  makes  note  of  her  own  consumption     ---     he’s  hardly  one  to  talk,  but  he’ll  proffer  subtle  chuckle  and  offer  his  OWN  glass  forth.     “     if  that’s  the  case,  drink  up.  it’s  the  only  way  t’get  through  these  things  sometimes,  i  swear.     ”     brow  arches,  like  there’s  something  MORE  within  lowly  tones,  but  all  he  can  continue  to  offer  is  charmed  simper.

    he’s dressed to the nines in some sheer little number, skimpy clothes on underneath as is the kendall way. he’s at this party to make a statement ( though whether that statement is directed towards the general population or specifically towards his ex boyfriend, he couldn’t say for certain ) and with the looks he’s getting he’d say he’s successful. that could be because he’s a terrible lightweight, though, and three extra sweet vodka lemonades has him stumbling in his platform boots, ankles teetering precariously as he pushes through the crowds of afterparty supporters and other assorted attendants. the first familiar face is the first to lure kendall over and he paints a saccharine smile on his lips before twining arms around elton’s waist. “ darling! ” he exclaims a few notches too loudly, chin hooking over his shoulder from behind. “ no one told me you’d be turning up looking so dapper – i’d have put on more makeup, otherwise! ” absently, he wonders if elton can smell the alcohol on his breath; he hopes not, personally.

           he’s  tipsy,  but  not  DRUNK     ;     bright  lights  have  blurred  together  into  technicolour  amalgamation  that  has  him  convinced  he’s  had  more  than  he  truly  has.  whiskey  and  peppermint  blend  together  into  something  dangerous,  something  delicious  and  the  minute  spindly  digits  curl  round  his  waist,  it’s  over.  bitten  shapes  curl  into  something  sharp  when  they  press  to  the  other’s  forehead  in  transitory  affection.     “     love,  i’d  adore  that  pretty  face  even  without  all  the  glitter.     ”     spine  twists,  stretches  into  kendall’s  grasp  before  one  roughened  palm  wreathes  its  way  around  the  other’s  hip  and  it’s  routine  now     ---     it’s  a  precarious  game  they  play,  ALL  PUSH  AND  NO  PULL  and  it  leaves  him  dangling  but  he  can’t  STOP,  can’t  stop  rolling  the  dice  and  playing  with  fire  that  he  can’t  conquer.     “     havin’  a  good  time,  darlin’    ??     ”     low  purr  rumbles  in  muted  tones  and  it’s  too  late  to  stop  now,  not  when  the  devil  has  found  a  home  in  paled  hues.

         “     personally,  i  thought  the  sculptor  story  was  fuckin’  MAGNIFICENT.     ”     rumination  is  half - hummed,  bubbles  with  mirth  as  digits  entwine  themselves  with  the  other’s.  grin  has  yet  to  falter,  high  and  warm  and  brilliant     --- ---     it’s  more  than  the  careless  crescent  moon  of  a  smirk  he  usually  offers  to  the  public,  but  she  coaxes  it  out  of  him.     (     he’s  yet  to  comprehend  why  he  allows  it.  it’s  a  two - am  thought,  the  kind  that  he  subconsciously  stumbles  upon  when  there’s  nothing  left  to  overanalyse.     )     free  hand  finds  itself  pressed  into  the  small  of  her  back,  delicate  but  secure     ;     instinctively,  calloused  pad  of  a  thumb  traces  petite  circle  into  thin  fabric.     “     if  you  make  me  do  the  chicken  dance,  i’ll  NEVER  forgive  you.  i  just  thought  y’should  know  that.     ”

          “     thank  god  for  shitty  events,  then.     ”     (     doesn’t  realise  the  offhanded  flirtation  encoded  into  hushed  comment.  he’s  not  brilliant  at  picking  up  his  own  subtle  charm,  admittedly.     )     “     a  dance  for  a  shitty  story     ?     you’re  on.     ”     contents  of  the  glass  he’s  been  cradling  disappear  in  a  long,  clean  line  whilst  he  picks  his  brains     ---     needs  a  GOOD  STORY,  something  hilarious     ;     dimples  punch  into  gaunt  cheeks  when  he  settles  on  one  particular  example.     “     well,  i  had  this  mate  back  in  camden  who  told  this  girl  he  was  a  sculptor  when  he  was  drunk  and  said  he’d  make  a  marble  bust  of  her  hands.  dumbarse  has  never  seen  marble,  let  alone  touched  it     ---     he  wakes  up  with  the  girl  in  his  bed  and  his  laptop  open,  googlin’  where  you  can  buy  marble.  it  was  a  right  nightmare.     ”

     georgia likes a good party, most of the time, and this one could be, if only there were less people she couldn’t stand on the guest list. it’s far easier to deal with them with a steady amount of liquor to dull the worst of it. where her date for the evening has gotten to is a mystery, but she can’t quite bring herself to worry about it, for the minute at least. kit can do what he likes ; it really doesn’t bother her much. she feels someone close behind her, and the familiar accent gives him away. ‘ for the free drinks, obviously, ‘ georgia replies, turning to him with a slight smirk. ‘ and thanks for sharing that story - i think i need another one just to forget you told me that. ‘

          somewhere  between  the  end  of  his  own  spiel  and  the  beginning  of  hers,  elton  whets  parched  brims  with  another  sip  of  something  cheap  that  slides  down  his  throat  like  razor  blades,  but  it  does  the  job     ---     it  dizzies  senses  that  desperately  need  it,  burns  a  highway  down  a  tired  throat  but  it’ll  do.     “     ah,  the  free  drinks   !   the  highlight  of  every  social  event,  obviously.     ”     cue  a  tilt  of  his  own  glass,  haphazard  smirk  lazy  whilst  he  gazes  at  the  blonde.     “     mm,  i’m  full  of  stories  that  make  you  want  to  drink  yourself  to  death.  i’m  more  than  happy  to  indulge.     ”
