Could Martha Idalia Avila be the Los Angeles County Jane Doe (December 2009)?

So little information is available to us about Martha. Her family doesn’t know if they last heard from her in 2007 or 2008. She’s missing from Houston, TX. Martha has no exclusions listed in NamUs.

On December 26, 2009 a woman’s partial remains were stumbled upon in the Angeles National Forest, CA while searching for remains of another UID (UP7571). The area had recently had a wildfire. It is thought that the deceased woman was Caucasian or Hispanic.

Obviously there’s some distance between the two and I’m going purely off of resemblance here, but I think Martha resembles the sketch more than my prior suggestion. The roundness of her eyes, the full lips, longer nose with a round end. Martha falls into height, age, and time frame estimates. Long shot?

I feel like anytime someone has slightly downturned eyes they put a lot of emphasis on it. Marisela is a little older than the estimated age but under the pre-40. She was also last seen in a pink top, I can’t help but wonder if that’s related? Once again, I can’t explain the distance but people travel.

Could Julie Elizabeth Soracco be the Monroe County Jane Doe (1979)?

Date of last contact is unknown and guessed to be August 1, 1977 from Placerville, CA. For whatever reason, she wasn’t reported as missing right away. It seems she was passed around from family member to family member and eventually placed into the foster care system and lived with a couple. On one of the last nights she was seen, she met with a male companion at a pizza place and potentially went away with him. Her grandfather did not want her disappearance publicized and it mentioned it’s rarely spoken about in the family. She was only 15 at the time of her disappearance.

Monroe County Jane Doe (1979) | UP6251

On March 5, 1979 and teenager’s body was found floating in ocean in Bahia Honda Keys, FL. Investigators are leaning towards suicide. The PMI is only thought to be about 3 hrs, the face was very recognizable.

What stands out to me most between the reconstructions and Julie is the larger Cupid’s bow. Heights and weights are close, but not spot on. However I’m just not sure if I’m seeing a strong enough of a resemblance, especially with the small PMI. The biggest discrepancies to me are the distance and no mentions of pierced ears on the Jane Doe. Could they have healed unnoticeably shut in 1+ yrs?

I also can’t disregard that the grandfather’s behavior was suspicious, however at the same time I know with some people reputation is everything.

Brenda went missing from Athens, Georgia on January 12, 1987 after leaving home to go purchase a pack of cigarettes. It’s reported she bought beer instead of cigarette but did not make it home. Brenda suffered from horrible epileptic seizures.

On December 2, 1991 a Jane Doe was discovered deceased in Hubert, North Carolina. Due to isolated location it is thought to be a homicide.

Our Jane Doe had all sorts of dental problems; seizure medications can greatly contribute to oral health problems and tooth decay. Our Jane Doe also had all sorts of back and neck problems. Again, this could be a result of Brenda’s violent epileptic seizures. Reconstructions of the Jane Doe show a hooked nose, I wish I could find a side profile of Brenda but I believe her nose was also hooked?

Discrepancies that’s are throwing me off - the distance and the estimated PMI.

Did Julie May Hill’s boyfriend lie to avoid the death penalty? Chambers County Jane Doe 1980

On July 19, 1980 Julie was reported missing from her apartment in MN by her mother. Julie’s apartment was left unlocked & door open, food cooking, dogs unattended, and her purse left behind.

Prior to getting her own place, she was living with her boyfriend Donald Louis Bloomer at his home. It’s reported there have been instances of domestic violence.

Donald confessed to her death. He claims her shot her and buried her on his property. But despite extensive search efforts and demolitions on his properties, Julie’s remains have never been found.

4 days after Julie’s disappearance, this Jane Doe was found to be a victim of a vehicular homicide all the way down south in TX.

I know this might seem crazy, but I think the boyfriend abducted her and took her 1000s of miles away so no one would ever find her body. Then he went on to lie in his confession in MN to avoid the death penalty.

The timing aligns. The heights match. They have the same hair. Could this be Julie?

On April 3, 1987 a young woman’s body was found in Schertz, TX. She had died from a designer drug overdose and it was apparent she was dumped there only a few days ago.

I don’t know why Miriam would potentially run away from CA to TX or what she was doing for 3 1/2 years, but that round jawline is too strong to ignore. I also feel that the sketch shows Miriam’s wide nose bridge. The height is within estimate and the age is within the estimate.

This Jane Doe was found frozen to death in an abandoned home in VA after intense cold weather in 1977. She was very recognizable. Jane Doe is described as having light brown or blue eyes.

Hazel went missing from Toledo OH in 1973. Her husband had left her alone with their 5 children while he was in MI. She left to go to the grocery store and did not return. Her vehicle was found in the parking lot.

Hazel fits the size and statue, however there are no mentions of a c section scar for Hazel. But with 5 children I wouldn’t be surprised.

Major discrepancy: Hazel was missing the tip of a finger. However, frostbite can cause significant damage, potential shriveling, shrinkage, and distortion. In some cases dead tissue may become so fragile it breaks off. This definitely applies to fingers and toes. Could this be why the Jane Doe had no mentions of a missing fingertip?

Could Catherine Ann Rubar be the Guadalupe County Jane Doe (1975)?

There is so little information available to us about Catherine. She went missing from Houston, TX on January 1, 1975. She was only 18. They labeled her as endangered missing.

On March 25, 1975 on Newkirk, NM a woman was found tied to a tree. She had been brutally assaulted and strangled. They determined this poor woman had given births within 2 weeks of her death.

The UID was determined to have given birth within 2 weeks of her death. Catherine would have had to have been almost 6 months pregnant prior to her disappearance. Surely she and others around her would have known this? However, I have seen extreme cases where women carry the baby in a way that the pregnancy is unnoticeable. Or some women don’t really show until later in the pregnancy. The UID was found <800 miles away from where Catherine went missing. Did she go away to have the baby? I think the hairline / part is the same. When she was last seen, they described her hair as being shorter. It could have reasonably grown while she was missing. Catherine was reported smaller than the Jane Doe, her family said she was 5’2 and 110lbs. Jane Doe was 5’4, I think 2 inches is within margin of human error, 135lbs. Catherine could have gained weight with the pregnancy. Her age fits the estimate. Face shape looks spot on to me.

On November 9, 1998 a woman was struck by a train. It’s unknown if this was a suicide or a medical emergency.

The unidentified was found years later, 13 miles away from where Denise vanished. Do we think she managed to survive on the streets all those years?

On February 5, 2013 in Lake Worth, FL a body was found in an area frequented by transient types. The deceased had a purse with a Taurus and Aquarius keychain attached, two rings, and a white size 7 sneaker.

Now unfortunately I don’t know how to make the little details fit (the keychains, did she have grandkids?) but everything else fits for me.

Tammy’s ears are set crooked on her head, the reconstruction has this exact same detail. It’s not the look of the ear it’s their placement. Overall I see a strong resemblance. The distance between the two isn’t unreasonable, <300 / a 4 hr drive apart. She fits height, age, and timeframe.

While trying to find more information about Tammy, I stumbled across some comments on Facebook. Someone claims Tammy could not read or write and that they helped Tammy by writing a goodbye letter for her to her boyfriend Rick. It’s also mentioned she may have been running with the wrong crowd (drugs). I take this with a grain of salt, but it would make sense in this situation.
