Tragically yes I must confirm this is true. Story time! It was our very first preview performance, the first time we were putting our show up in front of an audience. In my VERY FIRST SCENE literally right after my entrance, I gave my catch phrase (the lioness and her children and all that jazz) and when I finished I thought to myself “hm, my eye feels kinda weird” so with my back turned to the audience I reached up and my contact fell right into my hand. Absolutely gobsmacked. How has this happened. I ended up having to hold it in my hand through oceans bumper (when Noel and I came on as her parents I was still holding it in my hand) and only after that did I have time to run back to my little station I had back there for my change at the end, PRAY that it hadn’t fallen out of my hand at some point, bring it back to life with some contact solution from being crumpled up in my hand, SHOVE it back into my eye and sprint back onstage to make it for what the world needs. It never happened again after that thank GOD but I was always paranoid about it every single performance. Aaaaaand that’s live theatre baby

I promise it is a lot less about the specific exercises I do and more about the consistency! It depends on YOUR specific voice and what works best for YOU when figuring out which exercises to do. That’s why it’s so important to work with a coach who can help you understand your voice!

what kind of doll is your Jane based off of? I know Emily Rohm's Jane was a porcelain doll while Ashlyn Maddox's was more ragdoll like, so I'm curious as to if your Jane was based off of a specific type of doll or if you've had any thoughts about it.

Hey bird <3 if I had to say anything I would say my Jane was primarily based on a marionette who’s strings had been cut, which is inspiration I took from a specific set of stage directions in the script that really resonated with me

Hi my friend :) sorry it’s taken me a bit to get back to this.

The easiest answer is YES ALL THE TIME!!!! That’s live theatre for ya! Watching the bootlegs that have been up has been very funny since I know all the mistakes, but we always made it work! Wether it was a dropped line, or a flubbed costume change, there are constantly things happening we didn’t plan for BUT we always had eachothers back to pick things up :)

WHYYYYY IS @em-am-flo ‘S JANE DOE SO DAMN GOOD❗️❗️ like, her portrayal of Jane Doe might be one if not THE BEST that I’ve seen. (No shade to the others I love each version equally) Em’s version of ballad of Jane doe brought me into full blown sobs! Like the talent here, just perfect. Anyways i want to save my rant for my 2 Hour Video Essay on Ride the Cyclone (/srs) decided to draw her and it might be my best drawing yet!
