Are all sidekicks molested?
I write sometimes! I'm on ao3 as EmbersOfUprising. Most of it is about Dick Grayson and occasionally other DC goobers. Often dark to varying degrees and often nsfw, so read tags/warnings etc.
I try to tag commonly sought content warnings when I'm posting out into main tags, but in general, this blog is an 18+ 'choose not to warn' space.
Ostensibly this is my writing blog but it is actually 90% art reblogs, and I will deep-dive blogs and resurrect posts from over a decade ago. Posts that are actually about my writing are tagged as #embers writes. Completed fics (mine or fic recs) are tagged #fanfic and snips are tagged #fic snippet.
I tag asks as #embers answers, and also #ask game specifically for ask games. Comic reading posts are #embers reads, and posts with comic panels are #comic panels.
Clarkdick is my favourite ship, but I'm a huge multishipper and will ship basically anything that compels me in some way or just is nice to look at. Below the cut are the ship tags I use, if you want to peruse or block anything.
---
I always tag characters in posts, including ship posts. I'm not going to list out all the character tags I use because that sounds painful but let me know if you want to know what I use for a specifc character.
If any of the ship tags below are empty, the post is buried somewhere in my extensive queue and will emerge in 3-5 business months in all likelihood.
Teen Titans (1966) is such a fever dream of a comic that it reads like it's the post-crisis Titans with the thickest rosiest rose-coloured glasses on, fondly and nostalgically reminiscing about the wacky adventures they used to have. back when everything was fun and magic was real and they were all best friends playing in their secret clubhouse together. and every so often there's an oblique reference to something not-so-rosy under the surface - an offhanded mention of the Justice League being told about Roy's addiction, or Donna being left behind without a place to live when all the Amazons left this dimension - and then, as though the Titan telling the story is desperate to brush over it, it quickly moves on. turn the page and it's as though everyone has forgotten it. hey, don't mind about that, do you want to hear the one about the rock'n'roll star's long lost uncle? what about the ghosts of romeo and juliet? we don't need to talk about that other thing. it's literally fine. everything was so perfect back then. hey, maybe we should reform the titans-
"If you want to continue working with me... with my family... you need to commit. You need to decide in your bones that you're not going to lie down and die."
"You lost sight of the value of Roland Desmond's life. If you need me to forgive you for that, I probably can[...] but[...] you have no right to expect me to excuse you - for losing sight of the value of yours."
I made this after reading the first few issues of the 2009 Grant Morrison run. Ougghhh something about a mantle being an inheritance nobody wants to receive.
