LITERALLY ONE OF THE MOST agonizingly wasted opportunities in ric arc imo was scarecrow being obsessed with/afraid of robin, the whole sequence innn #55(??) flashing back to scarecrow being afraid of robin because robin is the only person he can't force to feel fear--someone he can't affect/control (and therefore can't protect himself from, imo, if you connect dots between batman/scarecrow: year one's scarecrow and ric arc's scarecrow)--and him being hit by his own fear toxin and hallucinating dick's compassionate dialogue as mockery--UGHH IT WAS SO GOOD SO SO SO GOOD that was such a banger fucking issue!!! and then it just like didn't get followed up on the way i wanted it to. but basically yea scarecrow should be chasing him around obsessively and inventing new things to drug him with every other week

I'm not even going to begin to argue that Superboy Prime "deserves" to be redeemed (lmao), but what I will argue is that it makes narrative and thematic sense to at least attempt to rehabilitate the character explicitly used to represent every fan who ever had a problem with Dan DiDio's decisions and cast all of us as whiny, entitled, selfish and childish for having those complaints in some of the most pointedly petty and vindictive writing known to comics in the new continuity that was created with the express intent of undoing as much of the damage done by DiDio as possible.

while I’m talking about Roy: it’s actually kind of funny to me that batfanon fans blame Roy for calling Dick a slut in the aftermath of the Mirage incident. We should do stuff like that more often. Roy was the one who blew Mia’s gymnasium up. Roy was there blowing up Blüdhaven in a nuclear blast. It was Roy who punched the universe and brought that red thing back to life

Wrt nutrient dense pellets. If I was in that universe, and that project leaked online, I would frankly freak out that rich people are trying to get poor people eating kibble for humans instead of real food. 'It's actually for personal use of the rich guy in charge' would never occur to me 😭

OMG really that's so interesting bc it's not where my head goes at all....maybe because i've been doing meal replacement drinks and bars and stuff since i was a teenager (le depression lack of appetite etc, it helped me get some kind of food into me) so it would strike me as like yayyy finally the autistic rich tech guys are making a meal replacement that sounds good?! they've been doing stuff like that with soylent (eye roll name) and huel for a decade-ish now trying to make something that lets them never have to eat again and like optimize their time or something. and then of course they have to make a bazillion dollars on it. i would assume it was that kind of bizarre personal desire -> private equity pipeline. and probably buy them to try if possible. they would be soooo dry though i think -_-
