Through a hybrid of sound and digital media, my practice explores how spatial environments embody the human element. My work endeavours to bring together every day physical activities with poetic elements in a multisensory interactive environment. The sensorial installation presented at the degree show, will be investigating how the mind and the body work in unity, using the everydayness as a starting point, and transfer its audience to a place of meditative seclusion.

Renee Willoughby

Live streaming video by Ustream Renee Willoughby’s final performance titled Your(re) Ideal is an investigation of presence, disembodiment and humanity through a death and rebirth ritual. Within her practice and research based around post humanism and ghosts she has reflected on the power people and their bodies have whether they are physically in a space or missing. What if a body is in the space but not moving, and dead for a day, on display for others to visit? Pretend dead but not completely? Will they speak to it? Touch it? Consider their own death? Will they be affected by knowing other bodies, or ghosts, are watching them watch this body in real time through a web-stream? Will a community be form digitally where all these non physical presences tweet, chat and in various ways engage with each other surrounding the questions of this body, in a liminal state of rebirth?

Elena Kotsi

"Infra", by Elena Kotsi

A title that refers to the "unseen, under, below, hidden" emotions and thoughts that a person could have in the most painful moment in its life. A life changing moment when you realize how fragile and weak you are as a human being. A moment such as the death of a loved one. The 5 five stages of grief are the invisible steps that the person needs to take and sometimes to create them in order to deal with the strongest types of pain. 

This performance's focus is to reveal the emotional states of each stage with digital projected narrative elements in order to create the ground for the audience to feel attached and moved, and be part of what is presented and exposed. A Physical Theatre piece has been created with the hope that this experience would be a journey for everyone.

Jordan Magnee

The “Instant show” project is a musical promenade site-specific performance. The main concept of the project is to temporarily use a usual or unusual space as a stage for a musical performance. The specificity of the performance is to create an ephemeral event, the “Instant Show” project use this characteristic as a basis to create a mobile digital stage run from a trolley. The performance is a promenade where the audience is invited to follow the artist performing its songs in a different space than a conventional venue, as second layer the video projection is used to changes the perception of this space into a stage. Then, the audience is brought in a promenade that explore the story and physicality of a space through a musical experience.

The captain of the ship and the crew, wish you a pleasant journey.

In between places, neither here* nor there floating. The captain of the ship and the crew, wish you a pleasant journey, is a durational performance piece that exists in the area between the present time and the infinite time of digital environments. Questioning cultural identity, home, and the notions of place, the artist performs a traditional hellenic mourning ritual while reflecting on the current socio-political European turbulences.
