I never thought I would have to make one of these posts, and I hope you never have to. 

My country, Ecuador, suffered a 7.8 earthquake today that left the country in chaos and sorrow. We’ve lost 77 people and there are 588 wounded so far, and the number is expected to increase.The pictures you see above are from Guayas and Manabí, but even now some of the most affected areas haven’t been reached yet. Pedernales, declared a disaster zone, is begging for help that cannot reach them. 

It’s a tragedy. It’s frustrating and it’s terrifying. I’m afraid of what the light of day will bring with it.

I am not home, but my country needs your thoughts and prayers. Please share, keep an eye out for us. I will update if there is any way you can help.

There are now at least 262 deaths, over a thousand injured, people unaccounted for, and the number is expected to increase. Any donations are appreciated. If you can’t, please spread the word so others may.
