Birthday Baes || Lyric & Dorothy
Like the softie he was, Lyric had been counting down the days until Dorothyās birthdayāshe had mentioned wanting to go ice skating, and this time of winter was perfect for that. It wasnāt hard to find a couple pairs of ice skates in stock, so Lyric had taken the liberty of getting he and Dorothy matching green ones.
Along with a wrapped birthday gift, Lyric brought the skates with him as he headed to Arcadia, taking care to arrive at the time he had promised Dorothy.
Which, of course, meant he got there too early.
Oops, should I knock on the door now? What if sheās not ready yet? I did get here early, will it seem weird that Iām already here? Nah, Dorothyās too sweet to ever judge but I donāt wanna seem overeager or anythingā
And then the door opened.
āO-Oh! Happy birthday!ā
Dorothy had thought she heard someone outside of her house and gone over to investigate when she caught a glimpse of a familiar face outside the door. She felt her face flush with warmth as she hurried to the door, not wanting to leave him outside with his arms bogged down like that. She hadnāt been expecting him yet, but she had been ready for some time. Truthfully, she had been pacing back and forth from the living room to the bathroom, continually checking to see if she looked okay. It was hard to look ācuteā when one was going to be wearing so many layers.
Really, it was a shame she hadnāt had a chance to get advice from Emily the day before. When sheād tried earlier that morning, she found her friend already had left for work.
āL-Lyric! Th-Thank you! I uhm -- Did you w-want to c-come inside? O-Or should we uhm.... Leave right away?ā
She was still getting used to the whole girlfriend thing and she couldnāt help but feel shy and a bit insecure, worried she was going to say or do something wrong. Dates were something she had no real experience with and she really hoped she didnāt mess up somehow.
