question guys, what do you think xander did to affect so david greatly?

like he is literally offering his life to lives up what xander tried to do and his ideals, he admits himself that he threw his life away

he says that xander wouldnt be someone who would kill without a purpose, which i also agree with him but what was xander to david for him to believe and say that so much? its obviously related to pregame but the trust towards him is beyond me, again this serie seems like a trust vs distrust

Considering he's the ultimate rebel he probably caused the death or surrender of a political figure relevant to the story, particularly David's perception of events, or something distinct like that with political value. Unsure what kind of figure or group could affect David so substantially for him to see Xander like that but I believe it's probably got a lot to do with the killing game itself. It's clear the story has its own distinct political & societal workings beyond the KG, so i think it fits alongside Xander's status as a revolutionist.

It also makes more sense for David to value his life more than people he sees as a bunch of nobodies; none of them are socially distinct as far as he's concerned, from his skewed view of events, despite the fact they're almost all ultimates. Whatever Xander did was probably altruistic from David's pov and his survival means more for the rest of humanity, rather than just the people in the KG like he's making it sound. Compared to xander, all he's ever done is spread inspiration — that's nothing like having genuine political significance.

This status would name Teruko's life ESPECIALLY worthless. It means Xander would not have attempted to kill her without means so important as a political surrender or death that saved many more people. David could not only see her as unimportant compared to the livelihood of many, but also as a threat. Which she undoubtedly is slipping into the role of with her paranoid attitude. It's like a catch-22 of character development.

It's kinda silly idk but all three definitely have distinctions about the kg, and ignorance to xander's actions must be absolutely appalling to david. He must see teruko as worse than a murderer.

That's just my theory tho

just wanna make a clarification that this isnt about when transphobes try to find workarounds for saying a canonical trans woman is actually a cis man (which is still pathetic) this is about the specific unwillingness by other trans people to acknowledge when a character is transfem coded and jumping at any possible opportunity to say theyre actually a trans man or agender or whatever
