As promised three fact day!!

Fun Fact 15

Although neither Adam or Barbara Maitland appear in the cartoon the bridge they died on is shown confirming that the cartoon and movie (and later musical) are three entirely separate realities (I have a fanfic in the works about that though)

It’s confirmed in the comics that The Deetz’s moved into a house that Beetlejuice was haunting, he tried to scare an 11 year old Lydia but she laughed at him instead and they’ve been besties/ Uncle/Neice figures ever since.

Bonus Musical Fact

Beetlejuice the musical was nominated for nine tony awards… it one none of them particularly disappointing in my opinion since amongst them was best scenic design and best lighting design. They literally have a giant snake named Sandy.

Bonus Movie fact

The working title for beetlejuice include “The Maitlands” “House Ghosts” (later potentially referenced in Adult Lydia’s show Ghost House) and briefly (I believe) Scared Sheetless though Burton did pitch the name as a joke

I’m going on vacation for two days so no fun facts over from Friday-Sunday AEST unfortunately as I’ll be spending time with family however I will give both a musical and movie fact upon my return

Fun Fact 15

Quite ironically Lydia’s Deetz’s voice actress Alyson Court was 16 when she began voicing the character. A year old than Winona Ryder when she played her in the film and also her assumed age (15/16) in the movie itself and just a year older than her in the musical.

While that is interesting by itself it can also be noted in a cute full circle moment that by the time the series ends Cartoon Lydia herself is (presumably) either 16 or just about to turn it.

Tara Strong was also 16 when she first voiced Clare and Prudence and it was one of her first voice acting roles.

But I was sick yesterday so I’m giving myself a one time only get out of fun fact free card for yesterday

Fun Fact Day 13

Despite her being a main character and the star of the show next to Beetlejuice there are actually six season four episodes episodes and one Short that Lydia doesn’t appear in.

These being (according to Wikipedia) “You’re History”, “Sore Feet”, “Miss beauty Juice pageant” (although she does enter it in the comic), “Ghoul of my dreams” “Don’t Beetlejuice And Drive”, “Catmandu Got you’re Tounge” and the short “Uncle BJ’s Roadhouse”.

There is no real life explanation for this exept that the episode simply focused on Beetlejuice instead of his adventures with Lydia and possibly that it had moved Networks to Fox Kids allowing the episodes to be less tame in terms of grossness.

An in universe explanation however is Lydia is (presumably) 15 turning 16 (and likely sixteen in the later episodes) in season four and therefore is likely busier with school than in previous seasons where she was 12 to 15 as she’s would be in high-school as opposed to Middle school (assuming Miss Shannon’s is K-12)

Whats new? Also do you see kangaroo `s often

I’ve had a few auditions and it really depends on where you are in Australia I see them in the bush a lot but I live in the city so I don’t see them often sadly

What were they for? How long does it take for callbacks?(that is the word for it ... Right? 😅) in a bush?? That's surprise ing wait how big was the bush?

Commercials are normally same day, Musicals are normally a few weeks or same week, Movies and TV are about a month or two and theme parks and Idol stuff can be six months or more

It’s revealed in the episode Robin Juice of Sherwood Forest that Lydia is severely allgeric to roses… however in another episode she is gifted dead roses and is completely fine.

Interestingly (according to my five minutes of research so please do correct me if I’m wrong) dead flowers can still affect those allgeric to them

Leaving us with the conclusion Lydia is allgeric to living roses but not dead ones… though to be fair weirder things have happened in this show

Fun Fact 11

According tvtropes.org Beetlejuice the animated series never released in Japan and thus (to my knowledge) does not have a Japanese Dub or Sub

Interestingly despite being a Canadian series The country only got season four of the show in 2024 (likely due to the movie sequel as it was on Tubi) on Teletoon+ as they did not have a Fox affiliate at the time of its release (it originally aired on ABC where they episodes both always featured Lydia and were much tamer)

Bonus musical fac

In the stage version of the cult classic movie and cartoon Beetlejuice is confirmed to be pansexual (if him flirting with both Adam, Barbara and briefly a few ensemble members wasn’t obvious enough lol) meaning both the cartoon (heavily implied) and Musical (canon) have some form of LGBTQ+ representation (and critics and fans alike say possibly Otho in the film version)

Bonus points cartoon and musical are self aware of the other universes and Cartoon Lydia is 16 (so Movie Lydia is Even more stressed out even though Cartoonjuice treats Cartoon her like she’s his child) as this takes place after not so peaceful pines
