Matthew takes inventory of his role as dad to his daughter Lulu as she starts kindergarten:
Through this change in the life of my daughter and our family, I have found myself taking inventory of my job as ādad,ā in the first five years of Luluās life. See, all of sudden it dawned on me, āfor five years, my wife and I have been the only influencers in her life for the most part. Now, sheās going to spend her days out of my arms and in someone elseās care.ā Suddenly, I felt the weight of responsibility, and began allowing my mind to travel backwards hoping not to discover too many shortcomings in the job I have done.
