Once ‘Hello Hurricane’ got a Vinyl pressing, I knew that there would be one for the following act ‘Vice Verses.’ I don’t know what else can be said here that I haven’t already mentioned in my previous Switchfoot post.
Both these records solidified me from a casual listener to a long time fan. It’s impossible to listen to one of these records without the other, from start to finish. However I will say that ‘Vice Verses’ is the definitive record for this band. Not just musically, and lyrically. When you have an album title that clearly reflects the name of the band, as they describe to be “The polarity of life, the positive and the negative.” It was meant to be. This is still one of my all time favorite albums, and it crazy to me that it’s been almost a decade since it’s release.
This is an SMLXL Exclusive Limited repressing on 2LP White/Black Marble (1/300). I’m pretty sure it’s 180 gram (It’s not specified on their website, but they do feel heavy enough that they could very well be). I’m also curious as to why this record is a limited pressing, but ‘Hello Hurricane’ isn’t… In this case, grab a copy while you can before they sell out. It could be another decade before we get another repress.
