From Tranquility by Heikki Kaski
Happy to share that my first zine is now available. Prelude to Silence is an overture to the larger body of work I've been making. Wendell Berry, describing pre-dawn light, said "it is not a light to see by, but only makes the darkness visible". Prelude is a glimpse into this visible darkness. Also, I'm offering a few prints from this work as well. More info here: http://www.emilhandke.com/books

A spread from the test book of a collaborative project I’m involved in along with @timothyirobertson and @materialprintshop. Looking forward to releasing this soon.
Researching for some upcoming self published books. One collaborative and one of my own. Much thanks to @selfpublishbehappy for making this resource available.

From “Fires” by Ron Jude.
Re-reading Cormac McCarthy’s The Road. It is both haunting and beautiful. Love this description of night: “The nights were blinding cold and casket black and the long reach of morning had a terrible silence to it.”

From John Burnside’s poem, Loved and Lost: Give me a childhood again and I will live as owls do, in the moss and curvature of nightfall -glimpsed, but never really seen,

This is an image from early on in the series. Before the work transitioned more towards night.
