[Caleb smiled as he watched Emilie grow bashful because it was usually him who got shy. To be able to make someone like Emilie Brewer blush and turn bashful was a feat on its own, one that Caleb was more than proud of. When he felt himself being tugged it his feet, he finally broke into a wide grin and slung his arms around her petite shoulders, pulling her into his side.]

[Emilie was smiling brightly as she led them through the empty Nook. She walked towards the children's section, slipping further down towards the newborn and baby related books. Turning towards him, she pulled out a baby blue cupcake and placed a candle it before placing it in his hands. Turning, she moved the books aside and pulled out a box full of wooden tools, made perfectly for a one year old boy. Giggling softly, Emilie looked up at him with a bright grin.]

[A small exhale of relief escaped from Caleb’s lips as he saw Emilie’s eyes glaze over and her smile grow again from the kisses he had placed against the corners of her mouth. The soft brushing of her skin against his, whether it was her nose sliding against the side of his or the feeling of her nimble fingers rubbing through his hair, his eyes glazed too as he ate the burger and allowed himself to relax in the gentle hold and touches of his Emilie. Finally finishing his burger, he kept his head in her neck and chuckled as he swallowed. If he wasn’t laughing, he would show just how miserably tired he had been feeling, and that was the last thing he wanted. To worry her anymore.]

I’m not going to fight you on this one. But, I will. I’m fine, Emilie. Really. Just a little stressed about getting ready for school, that’s it. And I’m not going anywhere, you got that? 

[Emilie felt bashful as she knew she was more than obvious about the effect Caleb had on her. She couldn't help herself, he made her feel the love she had always craved her entire life. She kept her hands on him, always needing to touch him in some way. The both of them had been deprived of the nurture they deserved so it was why she was so excited when he finished his food. She jumped up and off of him with a look of glee on her face, tugging his hands up. She wanted was for him to feel good.]

[Caleb saw her frown from the corner of his eye and immediately lifted his head to kiss both corners of her lips gently to distract her. Smiling as her arms came around his neck, the werewolf bit into his burger again and sighed as the food began to soothe his growling stomach. He wasn’t eating or sleeping right for the past few days and this was just what he needed. Resting his chin on her shoulder as he chewed then swallowed, Caleb smiled into her neck to hide his bashfulness and murmured against the sweet taste of her skin. He couldn’t believe she was doing this, but couldn’t bring himself to try and stop her.]

I—.. Em… You don’t have to. But—But, okay. Okay. I’ll let you be the most wonderfully beautiful woman to ever grace the earth just this once, alright? Just this once. 

[At the kiss to the corners of her lips, Emilie giggled and forgot about the bills as her lips curved into a soft smile caressing her features. She rubbed her nose lightly against his with a soft gaze of love in her eyes before pulling back slightly to let him eat. She had finished her burger quickly and ran her fingers through Caleb's hair as she gazed down at him. She was glad he was eating and letting her take care of him when it was usually the other way around. She held his head close as smiled at his shyness, grinning as she knew she had outdone herself but it was only because he deserved it.]

[Caleb subtly slipped all the bills and notices into his desk, thanking the heavens that she didn’t see them. She looked to be in a good mood, a good place, with the the smile that she wore seemingly brightening up the room and his heart. Unlike Emilie, Caleb had not a single clue that she was slipping pills into his drink, the whole idea of the both of them doing it to each other almost comical. As she handed him his burger, he slowly leaned back into his chair and pulled her into his lap with a deep sigh, a shy grin tugging at his lips as he looked down into his meal with a chuckle. He took a bite, chewed, trying to hide the fact that he was excited by the prospect and overwhelmed with curiosity as to what she had in mind.]

But my birthday was in May. Em, you really don’t have to do this. Really. I don’t need any gifts when I have you.

[Emilie caught a quick glimpse of the bill but couldn't see anything, frowning slightly as she wanted to see but didn't say anything as she sat down in Caleb's lap, her arm slipping around his neck as she chewed on her burger. Smiling down at him, she shook her head, finding it just crazy that they both drug each other just so the other could sleep. In some way, it was sweet. She cared so much about him and his health but today was just going to be a good day for him. Just before school started again, he needed to feel good. Chuckling softly, Emilie kissed the top of his head with a smile as she shook her head.]

No, love. I'm going to make up for every shitty birthday you had. Just as soon as you finish, I'll start. But you're my gift too, baby. You're too sweet too me.
