Reviews for Mountain Language are in! This thirty minute show delves into the struggles of a Mountain People being held in a police state. The oppressed are stripped of their language, dignity, and families by an authoritarian police state.
On the first read through I had the image of a caged work light, which would mimic the charactersā cages. We went with retractable trouble lights and choreographed moments where they would be pulled down for an angle change or left to eerily swing in silence. The practicals are then supplemented with cold blue and green side lights to help with the intricate face work of the actors.
