Assignment I: Forecasting Resources
#1 WGSN is one of the most well-known fashion forecasting services. It keeps everyone reading ahead, and informed about the fashion industry. WGSN has over 250 trend forecasters and data scientists for their 74,000 active users, both male and female. Forecasts come out 2 and 5 years ahead of our time. Other subjects covered on WGSN include fashion, beauty, sustainability, lifestyle, and much more. All of WGSN’s services are available via online subscription.
#2 PROMOSTYL analyzes societal and cultural influences in order to then assist designers and brands improve their long-term productions. PROMOSTYL was specifically designed for product managers, but now also offer forecasts for short-term collections, consulting, and news analysis’. Other subjects covered include catwalk reports, consulting, design, workshops, and branding. PROMOSTYL can be viewed, and subscribed to online.
#3 Color Marketing Group is an international group of color design professionals such as, designers, marketers, color scientists, consultants, educators, and artists. Here members get the insight on everything having to do with color. Members are able to attend local and international events to interpret, create, forecast, and select colors. By always collaborating, members are able to better identify the direction of color and design trends to then take that information across different industries. Forecasts are all year long and subscriptions are online and only meant for those currently involved in color forecasting, or color design.
#4 WWD is a daily record of information on the changing trends and news in men and women’s fashion. WWD discusses the history of the fashion industry, as well as cover information about forecasts, designers, brands, retailers, and advertisers all around the world. WWD can be found online, or read by print if subscribed.
