@avrillavigne photographed for @interviewmag in Brooklyn, April 2002. I tried to get celebrity/entertainment shoots unsuccessfully for a couple years until Interview gave me a chance to photograph four up and coming lady musicians. I was anxious and nervous, and the rain didn’t help the mood on set on this day in particular. One of the subjects of the story wound up becoming famous, and I was able to get other celebrity work because of that. I also continued to shoot for Interview on a regular basis for the next 5 or 6 years, and there was a good stretch of time where the majority of my portfolio was made up of #interviewmagazine jobs.
