hello, is tumblr a good place to start a poetry blog? i'm new to it and i want to post some of my own, just for fun for now. maybe something more in the future...

Yes! its an open and eaasy platform to share your work. You may not get lots of recognition but I think its a good place just to write things down to keep them all it one place

Turning my insides Into springtime by eating Pomegranate seeds

The sky is heavenly tonight.

Clouds glow golden.

Do you see it?

Because its the same sky that you see.

The ground I lay on

is the same ground you walk.

The same earth, 

no matter how far.

No matter how far, we're connected

though this same earth.

I put my head down and breathe it in.

Can you sense the life?

You’ve seen me at the worst

I’ve been in months.

You’ve seen me crying on the end of your bed at 3am

Telling you my story through sobs.

You’ve seen my angry at myself 

To the point of ripping out my hair.

You’ve seen me at 5am

after no sleep.

Youve seen me at 8am

after no sleep.

You’ve seen me worn down,

without make-up, without sleep,

Without hope.

But still

you

say that I’m 

beautiful

You travelled today.

Some might ask what the difference is

between being 150 miles

and 4,324 miles away. 

(Yes, I looked that up)

I cant see you either way,

but at least when you're in the country 

I can ask about your day.

Sometimes I do stupid things

Sometimes I do stupid things

like bite my nails till they hurt

After growing them out for weeks.

Like considering what would happen if the plane crashed

even though I'm not afraid to fly.

Like drinking vodka alone

in my dark room 

for the last time

Today I Unfriended your Mum on Facebook

Today

I unfriended your mum on Facebook.

I was sick of her Candy Crush requests

anyway.

But I am moving on,

I don't wanna think of your baby cousins face

when she find out she'll never see me again.

Today I made a concious effort

Not to think about what we were.

I want to eternalise that smile

In all its crooked, toothy glory. 

I want to capture the way your eyes light up

and frame it to keep forever.

I want to take that look 

And hang it on my wall.

But

then it wouldn't be mine

anymore.

Walk out in front of the bus

The specialist spectacle shop now sells

Electric cigarettes.

The roads are riddled will construction;

a new system no one will understand.

But the grammar boys still strut

these streets like they own it. 

Walk out in front of the bus

before it even indicates, but its fine

you know the route it takes and where it turns.

You'll know this town like the back of your hand

forever. Nothing really changes here.

over eager eyes.

Your fingers burn patterns in my skin.

Drum a beat on my shoulders

as you wait for the sun to wake.
