@eminem-and-hellokitty
Im not even kidding this is so true!
We might need to stop "healing"
As someone who's dealt with lifelong anxiety, insecurity, and used to be obsessed with psychology books, self-help books, podcasts and weekly therapy, I always felt like every every emotion had to be understood. Every thought had to be analyzed. Every feeling had to be fixed. And then I would be happy.
And don't get me wrong, understanding yourself matters. Therapy matters. Having a support system matters. Those things changed my life.
But there comes a point where more analysis isn't the answer anymore.
At some point you're going to have to stop researching and go outside and touch grass. Go on the trip. Fall in love. Get your heart broken. Get rejected. Feel embarrassed. Feel angry. Feel sad. Feel ridiculously happy. Laugh until your stomach hurts. Cry in your car. And survive all of it.
Because life isn't something you can think your way through. At some point, you have to stop trying to understand every feeling and start allowing yourself to experience them.
That's when you realize the world doesn't end. It just keeps going. And so do you.
