So I finished reading the recent chapters and while I do think this still holds true I also think that perhaps he is actually being way more normal about things than I had realized

Alright so whatever thoughts I had about chapter 92 just got reinforced like tenfold by chapter 93. Qifrey I'm sorry I ever doubted you, you were actually being so hinged the whole time. Also, Olruggio being Qifrey's watchful eye just keeps getting funnier and funnier tbh. Like who let them get away with that?

OC Intro: Meet Finley!

She is 6 years old and wants to be a witch when she grows up! Every kind of witch she learns about seems super cool though so she's having some trouble deciding. She's curious, energetic, and enthusiastic about just about anything!

Her 'familiar' is a goldfish she met after wishing for a familiar at a magical wishing well (it was an abandoned well in a forest clearing that just so happened to have a fish in it).

These are the initial sketches a did a while ago so the way I draw her has changed a bit but I try to refer back to this to keep the essence of the character consistent :)

She's a witch who specializes in light/illusion magic and makes all of her spells bubble themed purely because she enjoys it

Still working on the staff design but essentially she uses a massive bubble wand lmao

She likes to play around with outfits and hairstyles though she usually incorporates some kind of bubble braids or buns

I know I’m being an insufferable worldbuilding nerd here, but my basic metric for evaluating media with very inhuman protagonists is “how easily can one offer a complete and coherent account of this media’s plot without ever mentioning the fact that the protagonist is, for example, a talking car?”. The harder it is, the higher it scores.

This month it's been three whole years since I started drawing Bartimaeus fanart (I've been drawing it since 2020). I first encountered the work Bartimaeus when I was a child, so the encounter itself was much, much older, but it's only really recently that I've started drawing fanart this often. I still have a few drawings from my childhood, though. hehe. It was my favourite children's book as a child, but it's still my favourite and most re-read children's book. (Would a young adult book be a more accurate description, rather than a children's book?) I've been trying to read it properly recently and I'm reading the original English version on my own, but I'm not very good at English so it's a real headache to read it without a translator (this text is generated by DeepL. Eventually, I'd like to be able to produce texts on my own.) but I'm enjoying the differences and new discoveries from the Japanese version. I hope I can read it all.
