Design Journal Post
(If the photos are blurry I apologize) So my own pick for the project was the design firm Pentagram. I knew about Pentagram prior to the project and was always a firm I was really fascinated and interested by so I was happy I got to make a presentation on Pentagram! I am always attracted to pieces I believe flow well, are relatively balanced, and know how to use color to catch your attention but not look flashy. I believe Pentagram does this exactly, and as I dove deeper and deeper into their work there were consistencies throughout the work that I loved. Here some examples from Pentagram I was attracted to that I believe exemplify my taste. When it comes to Typography they keep things looking smooth and tasteful, and when something can catch your eye but look impressive and humble I think thats when a job has been well done.
Wow! The typography from Jessica Hische really blew me away. It is absolutely gorgeous and the old fashion look creates a nostalgic feel to the work. Im really in awe of this typography! This was Daly’s first pick so when I checked her out to see her work I was really blown away. Also a great surprise was finding out she designed the typography for the movie Moonrise Kingdom which is a favorite of mine. Its clear theres a style and its clear her strength is typography, and I am so happy Daly discovered Jessica Hische because her work has really wowed me.
