Expressive portrait about BRUCE LEE
For this assessment, I want to choice character is Bruce lee. I think most people know about him . Definitely,He was a famous action actor.
Bruce lee was an international famous Chinese martial arts actor, martial artist, philosopher and jeet kune do founder, was born in San Francisco Chinatown, young period in life, Kowloon, Hong Kong, and too much to participate in the performance of Hong Kong film. Unfortunately when he was 32 years old .He was dead in his house. But his death so far is a mystery.
His death so far is a mystery? Because he was a legend .Lee was the first person made the Chinese traditional kung fu use in the film and famous in Hollywood. He was powerful in his live, his movie and his kung fu , especially in wing chun. (This is one of the famous Chinese kungfu, lee was used it .He has three main type of martial arts, taiji, jeet kune do and wingchun . )
Finally,I use the idea that a position of wing chun martial arts to connect Bruce lee ,and also His power and performance in the film industry.
Rango---4364
Gore verbinski had derectied this film. It is a kind of cartoon movie. It is so funny. In this one, the beautiful color , the lovely songs and the plot is not complex . Rango also was a critical and commercial success, and won the Academy Award for best Animated Feature.
Rango is an ordinary chameleon who accidentally winds up in the town of Dirt, a lawless outpost in the Wild West in desperate need of a new sheriff. The plot include Man, hero, humor, detective, serious, woman, myth, adventure, human nature, feelings and so on.
When I saw this movie ,I fonud a part very interesting .Because I found about the mayor control water conspiracy plot, looks like 1974 by Jack Nicholson stars in "Chinatown".The tortoise mayor and "Chinatown" Noah Cross dress not only similar, even the sound the same.
Farewell my concubine review---4364
This is a 1993 Chinese darama film directed by Chen kaige.Farewell My Concubine explores the effect of China's political turmoil during the mid-20th century on the lives of individuals, families, and groups, in this case, two stars in a Peking opera troupe and the woman who comes between them.
I like this movie, because it included some beautiful music. The time covered is 1925 through 1977. The setting is Beijing, earlier called Peking and, when not the national capital, Peiping. The film's title is taken from a favorite work in Chinese opera repertory, a tragic tale out of an ancient past that has become myth. It's about a concubine who's so loyal and true that rather than abandon her king as he faces military defeat, she chooses to dance for him one last time and then to cut her throat with his sword.
In this way "Farewell My Concubine" interweaves the story of Dieyi and Xiaolou with the Japanese invasion of China in the 1930's, the surrender of the Japanese at the end of World War II, the rule of the Nationalist Government, the Chinese civil war, the victory of the Communists in 1949 and, finally, the Cultural Revolution (1966-1976) and its exhausted aftermath.
Reading Cinema 1 movie review --- Chinatown
“Chinatown” is directed by Roman Polanski in1974. This is not only a great film, but something more, something I would have thought almost impossible.
The plots work best when they start out seeming impossibly complicated and then end up with watertight logic, and Robert Towne's screenplay for "Chinatown" does that with consummate skill. But the whole movie is a tour de force; it's a period movie, with all the right cars and clothes and props, but we forget that after the first ten minutes. We've become involved in the movie's web of mystery, as we always were with the best private-eye stories, whether written or filmed. We care about these people and want to see what happens to them.
When I first heard this name, I thought that plot would be happened in Chinatown or might be discussed about a Chinese people. But I am wrong; the main plot not happened in Chinatown but overall look and cannot leave it. Because “everywhere is Chinatown”.
The film from the outset setting the suspense, and suspense constantly and the audience want to know "what is happened in Chinatown". And all of the suspense at the end of the film, revealing. Old plutocrats raped his daughter. Daughter gave birth to their daughter, also is his sister; Daughter finally died of police gun; That because of the daughter is born incest and sister returned to the old plutocrats side; Old plutocrats water and control the control the future, although he so killed a lot of people. The end of the film, the story just came to Chinatown. There, the police shot and killed trying to escape Evelyn. Jake looked at Evelyn’s full blood head, whispers "go farther and fare worse." lens slowly pull up, according to the whole Chinatown heavy night.
Also before the ending when Evelyn dead, the film first camera gave a long shot about the long road in Chinatown, the dark color cover that plot, only ambient lighting on the street and we only can heard a long car speakers sound .At that time all the audience knew she dead .And the whole movie is dark color it symbolize film noir-Chinatown. Constantly Chinatown does with metaphor. Chinatown that land, seems to be mysterious, exotic, no law. The Chinese people of all is the face of without expression, and indifferent. But, in fact, not a piece of land is clean, seems to be in the sunshine of the Los Angeles also however is the extension of the Chinatown.
Finally, Jack’s assistant pulled open for him and said to him: "Forget it, Jake. It's Chinatown." pointed to the theme of this film, and gave me a deep memory. Even though this is a sad ending, I think this a best way to finish this movie.
