Genuinely so happy I finally picked up McCloud's Understanding Comics. I've wanted to read it for years, but I never got around to it. I wish I'd had this when I was still in art school -- he's putting words to the concepts I struggled so hard with in those years, and I finally understand why I was having so much trouble. I knew, on some level, that I was in the wrong place for the education I wanted, as well as in the wrong place in my life for it, but now... I don't know how to say it. It's... Validating, to say the least.

I'm considering getting one of those tablets where you draw directly on the screen, in addition to the one I have that attaches to my laptop. But I'm really not sure where to start looking -- If anyone has a recommendation for me, I'd appreciate it

I am in the habit of picking up and reading whatever random Discworld books I can find at my local library, because I want them to get more of them.

I just finished Maskarade, and damn if Agnes's story doesn't resonate. Apparently people complain about how casually cruel everyone is to her, but that's just... What trying to perform while fat is like. I've lived that experience. It sucks.

Anyways, I would die for Agnes "Perdita X Dream" Nitt, and while she did very much deserve better from the Opera House, I'm glad she isn't staying with people who don't appreciate her.

sometimes training yourself not to draw with your wrist (bad bad BAD habit I am bad about) means putting your wristbrace on and forcing the issue

Trying to drag some stuff out of WIP Purgatory again this week

The temptation to start a piece over from scratch bc it's very old and my anatomy has improved so much since this sketch is very strong but I am literally 75% of the way through the inks so I can just call this a "rough ink" and fine-tune it after I finish
