The recent attacks, chaos, and kidnapping of the president in Venezuela have shaken the world and reminded us how fragile life becomes when violence and insecurity prevail.
The world is watching, grieving, and showing solidarity… and this is a human right.
But there is another kind of pain that doesn't receive enough attention.
The pain of a friend of mine from Gaza. Abdul Rahman lives with daily anxiety no less intense, as his mother is battling cancer,
and urgently needs chemotherapy that cannot be postponed.
Time is running out, the disease doesn't wait, and his family's financial resources are no longer sufficient to continue the treatment. Just as chaos and violence destroy lives, the lack of medicine threatens a mother's life,
and today Abdul Rahman's mother is fighting the disease in silence. I write this because I know him well,
and I know how broken he is and how he is forced to ask for help,
but there is no other option when a mother's life is at stake. Please, any donation, no matter how small, any share of this appeal,
could make a real difference to a family in Gaza, and could keep a mother alive.
Don't leave Abdul Rahman alone in this difficult ordeal.

My friend Abdul Rahman has been through the unimaginable.
He faced bombs and bullets, lost his home, and also lost his brother, whom he didn't even get to say goodbye to. He witnessed hunger consuming those around him, while his mother battled cancer and needed urgent surgery outside of Gaza.
All he did was cling to life, even though life offered him nothing but pain.
