Robert Hawkins was temporarily placed at an inpatient facility called the Richard Young Center when he was 13-years-old after threatening to kill his step-mother with a knife. He warned, “The only way she will leave the house is in a body bag.”

During a cognitive behavioral group therapy session the evening of the incident, he thought, “I’m here for no reason, I’m mad,” although he acknowledged, “They think I want to kill my parents.” Furthermore, on one of his intake forms, he listed his three feelings as “Angry to be here, relieved to be away from parents, and confused at why I’m here.”

In the following days, Hawkins remained indecisive about whether he wanted to return home or never step foot in his parents house again, as they explored his relationship with the family, particularly the animosity shown towards his step-mother. He described her as “mean and abusive” and that his father “sides with her everytime.” Hawkins commented she just “hates me so much” and believed it was due to his biological mother, recalling an argument they had when they first met: “I think my step mom thinks I’m just like my mom, that’s why she doesn’t like me.” He made several violent Mother’s Day cards for his stepmother, one with a hangman’s noose on the cover. On the inside, he wrote, “Thank you for not letting me kill myself” and “I tried to love you but I couldn’t.” The cards were confiscated, and in response, he said, “Why, she’s just my step-mom and she knows I hate her.”

Hawkins stated he was “scared” at home because his parents constantly “yell” at him, and he exhibited the same fear about an upcoming family meeting. Instead of facing them, he wished “a car would hit my family on their way here so they wouldn’t come tonight.”

He displayed a noted hopelessness towards the home situation throughout his time at the facility, once commenting, “I used to cry all the time, but now I can’t even cry anymore, I don’t even feel anything.” It was also here that he first expressed fantasies of murder-suicide. He told staff, “If anything happens at home I’ll probably kill my step mom and then kill myself.”

Five years later, this desire would become generalized, as Hawkins opened fire inside Von Maur department store at Westroads Mall, leaving nine dead, including himself.

The weirdest part to me about this is the fact that he didn’t off himself afterwords. You get so used to hearing that in other school shootings,it makes you wonder why some do and some don’t. Or is that just me?

In December 1978, Brenda Spencer had asked her father for a radio for Christmas. But come to that day, she was given a .22 caliber rifle with 500 rounds of ammunition instead, which would be used against the children at Cleveland Elementary School a month later.

Brenda had told police, “I asked for a radio and he bought me a gun.” When asked why he might have done that, she answered, “I felt like he wanted me to kill myself.”

Today Vadim Miloshevskij (26 May 2003) killed teacher and student in his school in Stolbtsy, Minsk Region, Belarus. Also two boys injured.

Witness told “He was late for class. When he came in, he stand next to the teacher, she asked “What?” and he stabbed her twice in the neck.”

Two boys tried to stop him, but were injured. One of them was stabbed in the neck and lung. Both in the hospital. After that perpetrator went to another classroom and killed student.

Witness “He came into classroom with knife. He smiled and had red eyes. No one thought that he will kill. He went up to Sasha, who sat in the back row. He stabbed him a lot. And then run away, laughing.”

Police caught him.

On March 6, 2017, 19-year-old Marcel Heße from Herne, Germany, decided that he wanted internet fame and figured he’d be able to achieve it by committing suicide. He texts a friend, and tries to kill himself with CO2 from a grill. The CO2 however triggers a smoke alarm, causing his suicide attempt to fail completely. Having already announced his suicide, Marcel Heße doesn’t see a way back and moves on to the next thing, murdering a child. He kidnaps a 9-year old-boy named Jaiden and stabs him a total of 56 times. He then takes photos of the child and sends them to his friend who then shares them on 4chan and asks people what to do. German police later arrest the friend, but Marcel avoids arrest by going on the run. Later on, Marcel shows up on 4chan himself, and starts a thread on /b/ showing off his bloodied shoes on the corpse of his friend whom he had killed on the same day. Marcel decided to hide at the home of the friend who was named Christopher W, who had not yet heard of the crime at the time. The pair played computer games, ate pizza and fell asleep. But the next morning, 22-year-old Christopher heard of the search for Marcel and confronted him to which Marcel then stabbed Christopher a total of 68 times and posted the aftermath online. On March 9, 2017, after 3 days of hiding, Marcel reportedly turned himself in. A forensic psychologist argued that the “psychopathic, narcissistic and sadistic” elements she found in Marcel’s behaviour were worrying and insisted he tried as an adult instead of an under juvenile. In 2018, Marcel was sentenced to life imprisonment. He will serve his detention on a psychiatric ward.

Authorities said the sergeant told Cruz to stop dragging his sandals while walking around the area and Cruz stuck up his middle finger at the sergeant.

The sergeant told deputies he was then rushed by Cruz as he was standing up and claimed that Cruz struck him in the face.

During the scuffle, the sergeant fell to the ground and Cruz took his conductive electronic weapon (CEW) from him, the affidavit stated.

According to the report, the CEW discharged while the sergeant was trying to get it back.

Authorities reviewed surveillance video of the incident and said it confirmed that Cruz rushed the sergeant and struck him in the face with his left fist.

Deputies said the video shows Cruz lying on top of the sergeant on the ground and repeatedly striking him on the top of his head.

According to the affidavit, the sergeant was eventually able to get the CEW back from Cruz and struck Cruz in the face with it after Cruz struck him multiple times.

Deputies said Cruz then retreated to one of the seats in the room, at which time the sergeant was able to detain him.
