fuck it, jasper gets sick of being a student all the damn time and ends up qualifying as a lecturer for a local community college teaching history. and not the americanized nicey-nice history. he straight up tells his students the damn facts and doesnt shy away from the shit that is normally not talked about.

anyway, building off of this, jasper doesn’t decide to teach on a whim. he talks about it extensively with carlisle and eventually it’s so he can break off with alice for a few years ( with bree usually accompanying them ) it’s something he is passionate about, and he wants to at least try something without having to be a student again. he does it for a few years, then goes back to carlisle and esme and restarts as a teenager again. because it’s a community college, he can move through it and stay for a few years feigning he’s finishing off his masters degree before leaving once again.  he figures that he should at least have one experience of being older.

“  could’ve  .  DIDN’T  . ”  he  remarked  careful  not  to  incite  a  panic  or  rage  with  her  .  tiny  as  she  was  ,  she  was  quite  vicious  when  it  came  down  to  everything  .  now  that  things  were  settling  ,  back  at  the  house  whilst  carlisle  attended  to  jacob  .  alice  had  left  bree  for  the  MEANTIME  ,  confident  that  the  young  vampire  wouldn’t  run  so  that  she  could  check  on  him  .  the  venom  still  stung  ,  hours  later  ,  shirt  off  &&  leaning  over  the  bathroom  sink  as  he  INSPECTED  the  fresh  scars  that  were  added  to  the  layers  he  already  possessed  .  alice’s  voice  was  low  as  she  approached  him  ,  &&  he  could  feel  her  fear  .  as  her  arms  wrapped  around  his  torso  ,   holding  him  from  behind  ,  jasper  let  his  fingers  NIMBLY  touch  her  hands  ,  closing  his  eyes  .  the  feeling  of  being  wanted  over-powering  any  other  thought  .

it  was  different  from  the  last  time  he  was  in  a  FIGHT  .  maria  had  never  cared  .  never  felt  these  tumbling  emotions  .  had  never  dared  to  care  .  it  was  always  different  with  alice  though  .  sometimes  he  forgot  how  much  DIFFERENT  until  these  small  moments  between  them  .  

“  i’m  sorry  i  worried  you  darlin’ .  ”  he  said  softly  .  “  but  i’d  RATHER  i  get  hurt  than  you  .  ”

Jasper was the first one I saw-he didn’t seem to see me at all. His eyes were only for Alice. She went quickly to his side; they didn’t embrace like other couples meeting there. They only stared into each other’s faces, yet, somehow, the moment was so private that I still felt the need to look away.
